I was playing at Pacific the other day. 2 jacks were on board, and a lady showed the other two. The very next hand there were two aces on board, and the same lady showed bullets. what are the odds?

Odds of holding JJ and the board showing the other two, AND (next hand) holding AA and the board showing the other two : 1 in 2,931,681,025.
Odds of holding pocket pairs twice in a row and getting a 4-of-a-kind on both occasions : 1 in 17,347,225.
Am I right??

No matter the odds, someone is going to hit it eventually.

All I can say is that I'm glad it wasn't me, cause I figure you only get a single one in a billion coincidence in your life, and I want mine to be the lotto, not back to back quads in $1/$2 holdem. Still, it was pretty amazing to see.

This reminds me of what happened to Varkonyi in 2003 wsop. I couldnt belive it and no one else seems to be as amazed by it as I was.
The very first hand that Robert Varkonyi played in the 2003 WSOP after winning 1st place the year before, he gets dealt pocket aces. ok. not so amzing. The second hand this guy gets dealt on the first day of WSOP the year after he won 1st place, he gets dealt AA! He gets dealt two pocket aces in the first two hands the year after he placed first. The second time he is heads up against a pocket KK! Talk about luck.

Were Varkonyi's hands back to back? I know that they appeared back to back on ESPN, but I figured there were a few hands in between that they didn't show.

That is a nice outlook, I never thought of it like that.
Tonight I had pocket 6s followed by pocket 7s. I lost both hands after limping them from early seat, but, but that's good right?

Each hand is independent, so you can't really mix the odds together.

Nevermind, I completely screwed that one up. Ignore my comment.

At Party Poker a couple of weeks ago in a 5/10 holdem game....I got 77 3 out of 5 hands....It got to the point that I was trying to remember which hands had spades in it and which had hearts....
The result?
Won one of the hands after calling a questionable bet on the flop and then nailing my set on 4th.....took about 120 bucks....the other two...I tossed them on the flop when it was obvious I was beat...Loss? about 15 bucks....
Profit? 105 bucks....WOOOHOOOOO!!!!
