Congrats to all who played at the dynamite freeroll! I wish I coulda been there. So... I played a Sunday morning tournament at the Luxor... $25 dollar buy in, and $3 dollar add on... (yes I am tight with my money! : ) )
I think I clearly understand now the words "a chip and a chair" now... in this tourney, the first hour is limit holdem and the second hour becomes no limit. The beating came with this first hand...
your hero: call K Q offsuit early position
the enemy: a raise from one on the button who had raised and got no callers the previous hand
three callers total
Flop: K 5 7 rainbow flop
Everyone checks around.
Turn: 4 ... I bet out.
The original raiser raises. What would you do?
Following that hand, I eventually came up to folding a small blind with the 10 7 offsuit and leaving myself one red chip... five dollars... five @#$ing dollars, and I had to hear this man next to me critique my play. I admit I was playing somewhat poorly. But, I was deteremined to make my comeback. Eventually, I just started hitting my hands... my fifteen became 25, then it became 75, then 100... next thing I knew I had $600 in chips. Sad to say I went out on the bubble at 7th place. For those novices out there, this means 6th place paid money, and I get the booby prize. I have questions on no limit strategy, on the hand I went out on, but I wanna know what you guys would do in this hand... if you felt it would have been better to bet out on the flop, please let me know... the conclusion to follow.
