2004 WSOP day three

Posted Wed Aug 25, 2004 10:03 am GMT by Nut Flush
Was probably the most enjoyable poker I've watched on TV so far this year. Just some highlights that I enjoyed

1) Brunson knocked out Fischman
2) Helmuth had a fit - was classic - guy raises Phil's bet on the flop, Phil had top pair, Jacks I think. Turn is a Q, both check. river rag. Phil bets and gets called. Phil lost the hand and was astonished "you raised drawing dead! unbelievable!" The guy replied "It was worth my 10k just to take a hand from you."
3) The Crew all got knocked out
4) Helmuth got knocked out
5) Mike Madusow(sp?) giving Raymer crap, saying how he's got big balls and raymer has itty bitty ones. Who's laughing now Mike?

Overall, was very entertaining television.

I agree, Dolly really slapped Fishman around but Fishman did at least have the class to give him his due respect.

Hellmuth just cracks me up. Matusow (sp?) is a prick, I don't blame Raymer for not shaking his hand.

Lederer getting busted by Dolly sucking out a flush was a tough break but you gotta have some luck. Otherwise Hellmuth would always win, right? Rolling Eyes

And that MAXIM girl was a hottie!

How did I forget to mention her? That table was so upset when she got busted out :D I think one guy even said something like "what did you do that for? i was having fun!".

And as for Fischman, he behaved much better than his other appearances. And if you're gonna get knocked out, at least he can say he got knocked out by Doyle

this was grrrrrreat!
maxim girl, sweet......
matusow and raymer, hilarious. raymer is beginning to piss me off. with his frizzy red hair, nerdy glasses, and large amount of body fat.
fischman and doyle, also hilarious. "How many books have you written, scott?"
hellmuth, funny as always
and that lady with the alien sunglasses? wtf?

One problem with Fischman....when Doyle beat him and he said, "nice hand Doyle", at that point after getting bitch slapped all day it should have been "Nice hand MISTER Brunson".

Respect your elders, esp when they OWN you.

I think I really, truly despise Matusow.

Anybody think Maxim might put that photo assistant in front of the camera soon? Makes sense to me.

It was nice watching Brunson get on a roll. And, though Fischman was respectful -- what else could he be? -- he was annoying, as usual, trying to talk a reaction out of Doyle. I think I dislike Dutch Boyd more, though.

I think some of the big pros played poorly early in the tournament, including the Danish dude, Guy something, why can't I think of his name? He just seemed out of it after a while.

Lederer deserved a better fate.

That episode made so happy.......

Fischman got raped by Brunson....I mean...it wasn't just getting beat....He got schooled...It was almost embarrasing....... Laughing

Annie Duke got knocked out....(she is so annoying) Razz

Hellmuth gets beat GOOD...and still cries about it.....The guy bluffed on the flop....If Hellmuth is so good...he should have put him All-in right then and there....He called and the guy catches his Q...PRICELESS!!!!!! Rolling Eyes

The crew died......THANK GOD..... Wink

Matasow is an A-hole...and not that great of a player either....Guy once told me that matasow is a notorious 30/60 loser...... Smile

Gus Hansen played like dog crap....was that really Gus? Shocked

It was as good a show as they have ever had.

I love Doyle.

And can someone explain the physical experience of Raymen so I know who he is when I'm watching...I somehow missed him this week.

You mean the physical appearance of Raymer? He was at the feature table for a few minutes on TV. He's a big guy and he had on those dorky glasses with the holograms on the front.

Well then I guess Matusow now has a couple of small dimples on his chin.

Fish-man was playing on UB, I thought.
Day three was the day that the back on my head was on for a total of 2 seconds. During that spot they did on Eric Seidel, I was sitting at that table. Toward the end on the spot they panned from Seidel over to Ferguson, then back to Seidel. Seidel was in the 1 position, Ferguson was in the 7. Me in the 5. That Pacific Poker Hat on backwards. That's me.
I am a star now. Autographs anyone?

That's cool Adam, I'll look for that. I made a few shots in the Day 1 (i.e. Day 1, Part 1) episode. Over Dean Hines' (seat 3 I believe) left shoulder is a table in the background. I'm in seat 1 at that table. When the guy in the green shirt gets busted out, you can see me look over to see what all the commotion was about. There's a few "profile" shots too.

Useless trivia: The grey long-sleeve "Golden Nugget - Sport" shirt that Johnny Chan was wearing when he got busted out was the same shirt I was wearing when I got busted out. So...I got that going for me. Rolling Eyes
