What exactly is the rake and how does it work? I know what a rake is in other casino games but not in the poker room. How does it work? Thanks in advance guys.

Basically, the rake is the amount of money that the dealer takes out of every pot in order to make money. In the 2-4 game at foxwoods, the rake is something like $1 for every $10 in the pot up to $40 for a total of $4 for the house. After $4 they don't take any more out of that pot.

I would add that if you are in lower limit (micro) games like .50/1.00, the rake starts at $5 (.25) and is 5% of bet pot.

It's usually 5% of the pot...to a capping point.
Sometimes...they only have one blind...which is nice!
