Did anyone see the "Ultimate Poker Challenge" on fox Sunday night? (Or something closely titled). I only caught enough of it to think "gee, poor production quality and not very knowledgable announcers". My wife couldn't believe I didn't stay up watching. Did anyone else stay with it longer for a different opinion, or to know who's doing it?
To illustrate the above, a guy flops a set, so he goes all in, and gets called by the guy who flopped a straight. Announcers say something like "well, why not? A set's pretty rare" "how rare?" "you want an answer?... Like a 1000 to 1". blah blah.
newbie here, just pokin my nose in. -Matt
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

It is done here in Vegas at The Plaza. It is the first year for it so expect some kinks. There is like 20 tourneys then semi and final.
One of the commentators ("Jesus") is well known.
I missed that episode but in tourney play (unlike Ring play), sometimes you need to pick a spot and call your shot. Otherwise you get blinded out as the blinds keep going up.
The graphics are hard to read. I though about entering for the hell of it since I am 20 min away. Might get my 15 seconds of fame as I walk in and right out past the camera :D
