2004 WSOP - final 50

Posted Wed Sep 08, 2004 9:34 am GMT by Nut Flush
Another interesting two hours of poker last night.

1) Ferguson had a nice little come back for awhile with only 1 chip left

2) I'd like to know what on earth that kid was doing the night before that caused him to sleep in and lose over 200k in blinds. Bunny Ranch maybe?

3) Arieh(sp?) acted like a jerk. Never tell anybody else how to play thier cards. He made a flush on the river and all of a sudden he's the best player ever. I liked watching him up until that point.

4) Marcel Luske was very amusing to watch last night. Very agressive player and the singing is pure entertainment.

5) Once again we learned that slow playing Aces can be bad news. I want that guy to go out anyway, he looks like a woman.

Is next week the final table?

next week is the 2 hour final. It's the last 2 tables methinks.

As soon as that guy slow played his aces I was sure he'd get beat. And sure enough... it was wonderful to watch

Arieh really pissed me off telling the guy how to play his cards when Arieh himself put a big stack of chips in on a F*^$# draw. Have some class you little punk. If he did that to me I would be waiting outside the horseshoe to give him a "Nut Flush". I wish Doyle or Jesus were still in there. Internet punks are ruining the show.....unless I win it next year Wink /quote

Arieh sucked out two guys on the river. The heart draw and the way he acted on that, did it for me. I despise Arieh and his behaviour.
When you almost knock out a guy late in the WSOP being an underdog with all your money in the pot, it's criminal to act like he did!

Arieh issued a public apology reference his televised rant last night. Pasted this from another site / forum:

First off i want to apoligize for the way i acted after winning that
> hand... let me explain myself... Imagine believing you are going to win 5
> million dollars the whole time you are playing and seeing it all flash in
> front of you at once... i was definitely caught up in the moment and acted
> childishly. I am definitely an emotional player, but not to that
> extent... As i watched tonights show, i couldnt believe the way i acted
> and wanted to publicly apoligize to harry, it disgusted me to watch my
> reaction... I should have reacted in a much more professional manner...
> Now to explain the hand.. i raised in first position, then after the flop
> i had 900k remaining, i bet 400k, basically telling my opponents that i am
> playing this hand to the river... AJ wasnt a hand i thought an opponent
> would shove with... i was wrong, there was a moment of shock,
> dissapointment, and humility all at the same time... hopefully that
> explains the way i acted... At this point in the tournament every hand is
> the most important hand of your life... i lost my cool and i want to send
> a sincere apology to Harry, and when i see him in person i will apoligize
> again.. thats not like me, i just hope that people that know me explain
> that i am a compationate person who cares about others feelings... Dont
> get me wrong i looked at the WSOP this year as a war for 5 million
> dollars, thats why you will see me needle people here and there, but that
> was uncalled for and was kicking someone when they were down... i hope you
> understand
