Hi, i think i jus encountered one of my worst beats ever in a mtt. I am BB and dealt 34, no raises pre flop, so the flop comes....2 5 4..I am short stacked at this point too by the way.
I got med pair and a open ended straight draw, i check it, overpairs and top pair would obviously have me...someone bets mildly, everyone folds.. i re raise thinking hes bluffing the pot every1 checked and missed probably, left of me raises all in only little bit more then me...original better folds... Left of me turns over A 8, im laughing at this point knowing that even if he hits his A i made my straight....anyway turn comes 6...I have made my straight and got a smile on my face when the river comes 7! he makes his straight to the 8 and leaves me wondering....I am guessing this play was hoping for either a 2 or an A, he was short stacked like me but I think was crazy to call my all in, he had nothing but A hi card....Anyway thought id share my bad ebat with you guys, I d be interested in knowing the chances of him getting a 6 and 7 on the turn and river though if anyone can attain them.

Certainly the runner runner for the straight was quite..... improbable.
As for the guy moving in with A8, i don't condone this move as he had very few chips in the pot to defend but, you say you thought player A was bluffing, he could well have thought same from your re-raise, a poor player would be hard pushed to think you had made mush of anything, he had 2 overcards and a straight draw however. (not the straight to the 8 tho, i imagine even he didn't see it that way )
So he could have hit an A an 8 or a 3 for the wheel or if you had been bluffing he would have had A hi. I know i Know it's kinda weak play and i aint condoning it, sadly some people feel this is good enough to move all their chips in. He could also have felt that in doing so he could have moved you off the pot? altho with such a small re-raise this is unlikely.
Just another case of a bad play hitting lucky.

I was just going to make my own post for bad beat with a straight, I'll just tag along on your thread though since it's a similar situation.
Early in a freeroll i'm dealt Q10 on the big blind. There is a raise of one bet and everybody calls it so I call it as well, getting good money on my extra 20 chips :D
Here comes the flop, K9J rainbow Holy crap, I flopped the nut straight! First to act makes it one bet, calls around to some guy in mid postion who goes all in. Folds to me so I reraise and go all in as well. Folds around the table.
Guy flips over his cards, AJ of diamonds. HA HA HA! I got this sucker beat!
Here comes the turn, another K. Oh crap, I already know whats going to happen before the river even gets dealt. Here it comes, another K giving him a fulhouse, Kings over Jacks.
I wasn't too upset just for the fact it was a freeroll, I'm just glad I didn't have that kind of crap luck in any of the cash tourneys I played this weekend.
