Playing a $30 ring game and in my final hand I'm dealt Q/10 suited so I call the blind after about three people stay in. Flop comes K/K/10. First position checks and so do the other two so I raise $5 to see who wants to play. The first guy calls and says "I got the King" while half laughing. You have to understand that this guy has been joking all night about what cards he has so I'm wary. This guy is good too so I'm really not sure what's going on. The other two fold and the turn is a King. So now I'm thinking the chances of him having a King are slim and I'm holding a preaty strong boat. So he says laughing, "awe man I don't have the King, I don't have it" and he checks (you can all probobly see where this is going) so I bet another five and he calls. The river is 6 so now I'm preaty confident but still wary. He says," I don't have the King man (laughing)," then his face goes straight, he calls me all in and says, " I've got the King man, I'm telling you." Anyways, I really didn't want to give up my hand so I called even though I could kind of sensed the truth in his voice but I'm so confused at this point I feel I should take the chance on my wonderful hand to find out. I show him the boat and he shows the King. Wow. That was the most confusing hand I have ever played for sure. I think I would have liked it better if he hadn't said anything; it would have felt like a justified bad beat. Instead he told me the truth and (in a very confusing way) and now I'm left with having the chance to get out but having such a good hand that it also felt impossible to fold. Can anyone tell me if I made the right call? :x

Horrible call. What could he possibly have that he called all those bets the whole way and then push all in? Either the K, or pocket JJ,QQ,AA which would have beat your boat.

Ok. But what if he had the same as me or a lower pair.
I wasn't betting very high so a pair of nines might call. Are you saying I was betting to obviously and he would have known I had a ten no matter what he was holding?

Mental warfare. Never believe or disbelieve anyone... just
don't listen. Of course it was confusing, poker is a game of
lying. He got you. It sucks, but I guess learn not to take
anything anyone says to heart.. Just focus on your gut
feelings and instinct. They are more developed (than you
think or realize) about spotting bs than your ears.
