Playing in an online freeroll, pretty early on, I'm in the small blind with Js8h. 3 players calls to me, and I limp in as well since the blinds are still cheap. the flop comes 7-T-9 with two clubs. I've hit the nut straight, and check it. One guy bets 2xBB, and I reraise him with a third of my stack. He's got me covered, and reraises all-in, which I call. He shows the low pair with an unsuited K7.
The turn pairs the board with a 10, and the river brings, of course, his 7 for the boat.
and then of course, I read about how much people enjoyed the hand afterwards.

There a few mates around us that play every week or so, we play a lot of online and consider ourselves to be of a decent standard. PLaying a HOME game last night and reasonable newbie turns up to play with us to get the worst bad beat I have ever seen online or in a home game ever.
I was holding J7 diamonds, I was BB (quite steep limits at this point)(1000 chips) everyone folded bah the newbie sitting in the small blind who has played very aggressively all the way. he raises me to 2000, pot steal? i doubt as it's not really big enough but i got a straight and flush outs so I decide i'll call...
flop comes JJ4 rainbow, actions on him, bang all in, I obviously call, couldn't believe my luck.
he turns over A7, I got him beat, it's over, he's walking, I take down a huge pot and become chip leader... if only...
Turn... A
River... A
now I know these people well and know theres no way the deck was stacked, but I could not believe how lucky he got.
So just to show that stupidly bad beats do occasionally happen in home games as well as just online freerolls

My worst beat happened playing limit online. I had KKs in the hole, betting preflop is capped with 4 ppl seeing the flop. Flop is 3 K A, great I have a trip KKKs. UTG bets, I raise everyone calls. The turn is a rag, everyone checks to me and I bet with everyone calling. River is a 3, great I got a fullhouse, I bet and the guy cold calling all the way raises, I re-raise, he re-raises and I call. He flips over pocket 33; I couldn't believe he made is one outer. I thought he had aces full and had just out played me, but no, he just got really lucky. Thank god I was there to pay him out.

You can't say that guy played poorly or just 'got lucky' after the flop though, in his book he just made his set of threes, which is a strong, concealed hand we all love to hold, and then he simply called you all the way in , and when he got the nuts he begain raising you. Ofcourse you had him beat all the way to the river, but one can't always play like the opponent holds KK or AA. (You didn't for instance)

Hey Guys I am new to the forum, so I just wanted to say hey and tell you a story from last night, I am sure its not as good as some others on here but I was happy
I play at pokerchamps
Last night at a 2/4 limit table I had 49 dollars(last of my money) and got dealt 7,7. 2 raises before it hit me so I called the 8 dollars to see the flop. Flop came 3,8,3. So i figured I was allright since not a lot of people would have called with 3's or and 8, so I called the 4 dollars to see the turn. Turn came a 7, i almost crapped myself. So the two before me (only us 3 in hand) raised it so it was 8 to me, so i raised and eveyone called the max raise which was 16 a piece, river comes a q. So the first guys bets again and the second folds, now im thinking hmm, i got 7's over 3's and he is betting, the only thing that could beet me was 8's or q's. So I decided just to call since if I would have lost the hand I would only have like 4 left, well he shows 3,8 he flopped the fullhouse, and i show my 7,7 to win a 90 dollar hand. It was awesome. Well thats my story whats yours?
also check out my site see if you like it, I only have a little so far but here it is

I'm going to help you out here and say what needs to be said. If you are not willing to go broke with that hand, then you need to find a new game to play.
A set will usually be enough to go broke if they have me beat, a full house, and the top end of one, well you'll never get me to back off of that hand. I'll pay you off if you have pocket Q's or 8's or pocket 3's.
Next time, don't think about saving 4 chips, think about how to get them in the middle. Your hand is too big not to want to get them in there, if they have you beat there is NOTHING you can do.
