pokerchips.com order

Posted Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:35 pm GMT by X-Files
I placed an order from pokerchips.com on 7/30/04 and was quoted a mid October delivery. The chips I ordered use the Roman mold and edge spots
with no center graphic.

My question is how good have they been about completing orders lately?

I hope they will have my chips done before November so that I can take them on a trip so that everyone can have fun playing poker with my cool new chips. That would make me very happy. :D

Thanks for letting me know about your experiences with pokerchips.com

Yeah, Teek said that it took a LOOOOOOOOONG time, but that it was worth the wait. I didn't like my sample at first, but the more I play with it the more I like it.

After talking to a person at Pokerchips.com it looks like my original timeline may be pushed back until late November. Crying

I want my chips. Crying

I guess that is the price for custom chips.

I ordered mine on April 3rd this year and was quoted with a delivery towards the end of June. Well, I got them some time in August. I'm guessing they are way backed up with the exploding popularity of poker now days. That's just a guess though because they never said that or even apologized for the delay or anything. I had to call a couple of times to check up on them and I was very unimpressed with their customer service, but my chips are freaking incredible and I couldn't be happier with them. I got the American mold with edge spots and a custom center, and they are awesome.

I hope it does not take until the end of November begining of December.
I am just ordering the Roman mold with edge spots.

Also could you post pics.

Thanks for your response.

I started a thread for everyone to post their pics. Ten, I can't wait to see real pics of yours too.

Posted Fri Oct 08, 2004 1:49 am GMT by Boomer
I'd love to post pics. Although I have a $700 set of poker chips, I still don't have a digital camera. I'll see what I can do though...

Posted Fri Oct 08, 2004 8:36 am GMT by Nut Flush
Go buy one of those dispoable digitals :D They sell them at most pharmacy stores and when you bring the camera back, they put your pictures on a CD for you.

Posted Fri Oct 08, 2004 8:52 am GMT by tabascojrc
has anyone ever opened those to find out how they work?
meaning could you just keep reusing it if you could get it connected to your computer, or is it just a film camera that they develop and put on cd without you having to ask.

Posted Fri Oct 08, 2004 1:07 pm GMT by Boomer
That's funny. Those are just regular disposable cameras with 35 mm film, but they put your photos on a CD. It's a good deal but there is nothing digital about the camera itself.

Posted Fri Oct 08, 2004 5:17 pm GMT by Guest
There are digital disposable cameras, and they are not just 35mm cameras that they put your pictures on CD.

A while back, someone figured out how to convert a disposable digital camera so that you could get the pictures off of it and delete the memory so you could use it over and over again. The camera cost about $12 and the stuff to convert it was like another $10 or so. You basically got a decent picture quality reuseable digital camera for $22 Smile

I finalized an order with pokerchips.com just after you did (first week in August). I called recently and they said I was scheduled to go into production next week, and to expect them delivered to my door in 2-3 weeks. If that is any indication, look for yours even sooner. Hope I'm right. Smile

I talked to them also and the said they were going to be in production by this week. I hope so. I want to see that credit card charge.

I'm planning on ordering a set of 500 from pokerchips.com, but I just want plain chips with edge spots: The ones listed on their site for $.50 each. Will there be a long wait for these chips with no customizing or do they just pull them out of their stock?

Posted Mon Nov 08, 2004 7:34 am GMT by X-Files
So far it has been 3 months for me. Roman mold with edge spots. No hot stamping or center. I still have not received them but they are supposed to go into production soon according to them.

Since there is a lot of different colorcombinations that can be made, i very much doubt that it is possible to stock them in any amount. I'm afraid those will take nearly as long as customs with inlay, as i think the printing of the inlay doesn't really delay the production much.

X-files:

I'm right now also very near in ordering EXACTLY the same as you have ordered. Simple roman mold with edgespots only. I think that it's a bargain at $0.50 a piece. I could get a set of 2000 for less than $1k.
What colors did you use?? Can't wait to see your pictures!

Posted Sat Nov 13, 2004 5:42 pm GMT by X-Files
I ordered the following colors.

WhiteArc Yellow
BlackDayglo Green
GreenDayglo Pink
PurpleDayglo Yellow
YellowDayglo Orange

I know I went with some unusual colors but I think the color combinations will look good.

I'm hoping to get my chips by the end of this month (November) but as long as I get them before mid December I'm a happy camper.

One thing I did learn in the process is that if you get the more "normal" color chips the processing time appears to be quicker. On checking with them about my chips the lady said "let's see what colors you picked". She then said "Good all your chips are ones we usually run", or words to that effect.

So color may have a bearing on how fast you get them since they may wait until they have "enough" of a color to run. Or not.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 5:52 pm GMT by Teekan
During the hollidays they will probably be swamped as I expect. But you should hopefully get them before xmas.

Pokerchips.com is prolly busy then ever by now, since they were busy as ever when I ordered my chips. But the patience will be rewarded, as you will see. Wink

Posted Fri Nov 19, 2004 9:21 am GMT by X-Files
My chips are on the way. They are in CT now and are supposed to be at my home by Tuesday Nov. 22. :D

I will post picks when they arrive.
If they arrive Tuesday it will have taken 114 days since I placed my order.
A little over 16 weeks.

Posted Mon Nov 22, 2004 5:00 pm GMT by X-Files
The chips have arrived. :D

I have not seen them yet because I am at work. Sad

I also had the day of the week wrong in my previous post. Embarassed

I will post pictures tomorrow.

I received an email Friday with a Fed Ex tracking number. They shipped and it is showing a delivery time of 11/24/04. Happy days are here again........

Pokerchips.com came thru like a champ!

Posted Mon Nov 22, 2004 10:03 pm GMT by X-Files
I love the chips. I am only unhappy with the way one of the chips came out.
The Yellow/DG Orange looks like Yellow/Orange or Yellow/Burgandy. I am going to check with them on that chip.

I know the images could be better. I will try with my scanner when I get a chance to set it up.

Those are really nice chips! I was going to order some like yours (edge spots w/ roman border) but got a good deal on some TRKing chips and decided to get those instead. If you take more pics get some of them in stacks and piles so we can get a good look at them.

How much? Did you get customs? Or standard TR Kings?

Hey X-Files...exactly what colors are your chips?...as far as specific greens, etc...I just placed an order with pokerchips.com, and I am wondering just how faithful their online color chart is. I'm hoping it wasn't a big mistake on my part not to get samples first; it was a dumb decision not to.

Thanks a lot!

Not to hijack this thread but I got standard Casbah Club chips. They are seconds because they have a white cast on the surface but they are only .25/chip. So i got 500 for $125+shipping. They dont have edgespots but they have denominations and I dont mind not having edgespots. THey are awesome chips I'll start a thread with pictures i guess.

NICE CHIPS!

Whats the price on those?

Posted Thu Nov 25, 2004 11:50 am GMT by MeridianFC
X-files, those are some very nice looking chips.

Paulsonchips, I can't imagine the price was any better than listed on their website ($.50/chip) http://www.pokerchips.com/chips/chips_styles.html

I tried to price out 5-10K pieces and they'd only give a 10% discount and waive the color fee. To be fair their price of $.95 for edgespot with insert (this w/out discount) is really good. Maybe the best going. It's just that damned edge spot restriction that keeps me away. It's so close and yet so far. If they'd let you get the varying patterns I'd buy 2K today

I'm not even that worried about multi color. The really frustrating thing is I've never seen this style in any casino or card room I've ever been in. Hell I don't even think I've seen ASM chips period.

Paulsonchips I know you and I have had this discussion (rant?) before so sorry to put you through it again. Wink

My chips, from PokerChips.com, arrived on Wednesday and we played with them last night. I love 'um!!

I bought 1k and they sent me extras and I went through each chip wiping them down and discarding any with even a spot of color in the wrong place. I am long chips now and 100% satisfied. They look, sound, stack and play great!

In case you are wondering about the significance of the symbol used on the chip, I collect Napoleonics and the symbol was used by Napoleon's Grenadiers.

Nice chips! I like your color combos! Nice table too. Any links to the table? Also, is that case an elite 550? I have one on the way.

Posted Fri Nov 26, 2004 6:58 pm GMT by Grumbler
Thanks. The larger case is the elite 700. The table is by Imperial and it comes with 4 chairs but I picked up 2 extra which gives me 6. Prices are all over the map so do a google, if interested. I saw it in a local billiard store and it looks much better in person than in the pictures.

I ordered the following colors.

WhiteArc Yellow
BlackDayglo Green
GreenDayglo Pink
PurpleDayglo Yellow
YellowDayglo Orange

The only one that does not look right is the YellowDayglo Orange.
It looks like YellowBurgandy. I did not get samples I went from the color chart on their page.

Hey X files, do the purple really look purple?

In the case they do, but close up it looks more blue, is it just the case? Or should I do lavender?

Purple does look like it is purple no blue to it at all. I do not know why it looks that way in pictures. That combination is one of my favorites.
