Me and my friends got our home game filmed and we got interviewed by CBS. They were doing a piece on the teenage poker craze. Me and my friends are gonna be on CBS nightly. They're getting back to us soon as to what day the piece will air. It was a really fun experience.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Odd thought - NOWHERE in the laws for home games in my state does it say you have to be a certain age to play in them...you have to be a certain age to enter a casino or cardroom, bar, or bingo parlor, but the text of the 'professional gaming' laws say NOTHING about age in a legal home game...

I can't say for other areas but I know many laws allow for what they call "social games" in the privacy of your own home.

That sounds pretty cool. Be sure to let us know when its airing. I like watching shows on gambling.

There was a recent newspaper article on teenage poker and it mentioned that home games like that were legal for any age

Was it CBS or a local affiliate? Cause I'd like to watch it, and a local would put it on their website.... Also, did they get back to you yet?

it was not an affiliate. It is going to be on CBS Nightly, or so they told us. The thing is, it is a piece without a time constraint, so they will play it whenever there isn't a big story going on. They also have to edit it and stuff, so they aren't quite ready yet. I will tell you when it airs once they get back to me.

On the age thing - here in Florida it is in fact illegal to participate in a home game if under the age of 18.
