Aces Full Crushed in Runner Runner Nightmare

Posted Mon Oct 04, 2004 5:22 pm GMT by leviathan
Okay so i'm online playing a stt on Victor Chandler and it's down to the last four with cash going to the top three. I'm second in chips and sittting in the BB for this hand, everyone folds round to the chip leader in the SB who just calls.

i look at my hand and i've got a low kickered ace, Ah 5d, i figure i'll just check because i've seen this guy raise with rags and just call with some decent hands.

The flop comes As Ad 5c

i'm thinking " i've connected with every single card on the flop" i've got him strangled i'll slow play it"

He bets, i decide to put in a small raise, see if he'll bite, i've been play aggressively and pushing people off cards before and after flop, so he might take this as a bluff. He's also seen me fold to a re-raise when i've been bluffing so...

He goes all in!

I practically scream with joy and call faster than road runner on speed.

he flips over his cards and i know i had him read right he was on a stone cold bluff. He's got 8c 9c. You know where this is going!

the turn comes

7c

and i'm thinking i've still got him strangled, he makes the straight, i've got him beat, he makes the flush i've got him beat. i mean runner runner straight flush thats like 981 to.....

....O...M...G....

The river comes 6c

i imagine the faces of the other players at the table....

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

The chat bar errupts, everyones shouting it's the most ridiculous beat they've ever seen. they can't believe this, they don't understand that, the site gets slated, apparently it's notorious for bad beats (aren't they all!).

Me i've finally reached that point where you hit bad beat nirvana: i know i made the right call, i know it's a game of chance, i'm calm, i accept defeat. i sign straight up to the next stt and bust four players winning it hands down.

For a week after wards i see that 6c fall in my dreams...

since when does the BB get to check before the SB does. You said you checked the flop to him, and he bet. Story just dont sound right.

Every place I play the SB acts before the BB who has the option to check or raise. Not sure where you play at but let me know so I don't. That or just read the post again before you reply. You'll also notice there is not "edited by" or anything.

I was writing from memory, please excuse any lapses of concentration, this is the first time i've written about a hand of poker. Good to know you guys are so eagle eyed. i have taken out the reference to the mystery out of turn check on the flop.

OK...people on this board complain, but from what I've seen this one takes the cake.

He went all in on you, drawing on a made hand, with two cards to the flush or straight, with only one more place to finish in the money? Either he was tired and wanted to go to sleep, he really thought a bluff would work, or he had some type of gift that let him see the cards coming. Thats just ridiculous.
