Two quick questions:
In no-limit hold'em, do you still have the standard minimum bets like you do in limit?
For example, if blinds are $1/$2, would the minimum opening bet on the turn/river be $4?
Also, there's no "capping" in a no-limit game, right? You can have as many raises as you want?
Thanks.

As far as I know the big blind is the minimum bet for any round unless the house specifically states otherwise.
Also there is no cap in no limit, though it's rare to see a raising war go more than three raises.

Yeah, generally it's raise, re-raise, all-in.

Pre-flop and flop the minimum is the SB. Turn and River it is the BB. Hope that helps.

k-rug... i think you're off slightly.
the min bet can't the the SB... after all, the SB is REQUIRED to call the BB preflop in order to stay in the hand. that indicates that the minimum bet preflop/flop is the BB and as far as i know, generally speaking the min bet on the turn/river is 2x the BB.
i could be wrong though. this is how i've always played.

Well that's splitting hairs kind of. Yes pre-flop you must CALL the BB. Wait... I just read your post and read what I wrote. You are correct. Crap did I write that down wrong in my rules too?
Yes BB then x2 the BB. At a 2/4 it would be 4 then 8. I think I had my mind still set on seat positions when the SB for example goes dead and what a person posts. Oy!

Unless, of course, it's all you've got...

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad to hear this wasn't as much of a no-brainer as I had thought. But it sounds like the general view is that the minimum bet for no-limit works just like it does for limit.
Does anyone have a reference to a site on the web that points this out as a rule? I was really surprised that I didn't have much luck finding this anywhere and wondered if it might just be a "house rule" sort of issue.
Thanks.
