I used to play a lot of 5 person SNG's because if figured it was easier to win. Which is true. However I have started playing a lot more 10 or 20 player ones and have been doing considerable better in the finances. My theory is that 5 players even if you win you still only get half what you would get in a 10 player SNG. And if you have the skill to win a 5 player you should easily be able to win a 10 player also. Im done playing 5 player SNG's, multis and 10 or more from now on.

the reality of the 5person sng's is that you see fewer hands because you're forced to bet more often (i.e. blind gets to you more often in a 5 pserson vs. 10 person). this might account for what you're experiancing as an easier time in the 10 person... if only a little at least.
i prefer the 10 person games to the 5 person ones as well... however i seem to do equally as well (or poorly depending on who you ask... LOL) at both.
for me 10 person games are the way to go as well... although i do enjoy the 5 person games from time to time. with only 5 people you can open up your game a bit more since your pretty near to short handed from the get go. it can make for a fun game.
:D
