Talk about a bad beat....

Me and a bunch of my buddies play a home game several times a week for a 20 dollar buy in winner take all. After about and hour and half of play I have seen nothing but horrible cards and figured it was just gonna be one of those nights. All of a sudden before I even get to check out my cards someone 2 seats in front of me who is short stacked also with around 600 chips (everyone starts with 1500) moves all in with a Q,J of hearts. I check out my cards and I have pocket aces (clubs and diamonds). I was also short stacked at around 750 in chips so I call and re-raise all in. The seat to the next of me calls, he is chip leader with well over 3,000 in chips. He turns over pocket aces too (hearts and spades). The flop comes 3 spades.... and you guessed it one more spade on the river giving him an ace high flush... Is this that bad of a beat?

I wouldn't class it as a bad beat, more an unfortunate beat.

i'm with NickHow on this one. very unfortunate to lose that one, but you never really were ahead at any point in the hand so you can't really call it a bad beat.

Ya, I guess but at least with aces vs aces the least you are expecting is a split pot.
