Bad beat but I still won money on the hand!!

I play a home game at my place every week 7-9 people. This week we were short a player so a friend asked his roommate if she wanted to play. She had watched poker but never really played before. We all buy in for $5 and get things rolling.

I didnt catch many cards in the first hour or so, so it was fold fold fold. I know everyone at the table so I get a decent read on everyone except the new girl. She played fairly loose, making generally smart decisions and even put in a big bluff to take down the pot every now and then. She was getting the cards to make everyone respect her raises.

My wrist was getting sore from chucking my cards into the muck pile for so long, so I decided to limp in and play a pot when I was dealing. 3rd position limps in, 4-6th fold, I limp in with Qc 9c. Dealer and SB calls the BB and the BB checks. Here comes a flop........9d 9x 10d. Well now, things are looking up for me. SB checks and BB makes a bet of 2x BB. I re-raise him to 5x BB. Button folds SB calls, and BB calls the reraise. Turn card comes out as Qd. Now there is a flush possibility on the board, but I dont care because I just made my boat with 9's full of Q's. Checks around to me so I put in another $.50 bet and everyone calls. The river card comes up 4d. 4 cards to a flush on the board. SB is on the short stack so she goes all-in for about $1.50, BB hesitates and calls the SB all-in bet

I'm up next so I go all-in also, I have the SB covered and raise about $3.75. BB thinks for a while, meanwhile I am trying to give him every tell in the book to get a call. I put him on a flush, as he is known to be a maniac that makes stupid calls all of the time. He thinks for a while and finally calls. Cards come out, BB had the flush (2d, 6d.......how do you call that when there are 4 flush cards on the board?). SB flips the cards........QQ (my worst nightmare). This gives her Q's full of 9's that beat my 9's full of Q's.

Funny part is that I actually made money on the hand. I got taken down by the SB for about $2.50 but my all-in re-raise won me about $1.50 on the hand.

I dont really know how I could have played the hand any differently. A new player who just limps in pre-flop with pocket queens. I guess the all-in could have tipped me off, but there were 4 cards to the flush so I assumed she had a high diamond.

I didn't get many cards for the rest of the night. So I had to be the agressor in a tightened up game. I ended up getting knocked out in 3rd. I realized that I would far rather play against somone who knows what they are doing than someone who is new to the game. I never can get a feel for what they might be holding. I have finished either 1st or 2nd every week in this home game, but got taken out this week by the new player.

If anyone has any solid advice on playing against a new player of sees a flaw in my play on that hand, I would love to hear it
:D

I think you played it right. Sometimes your monster hand gets beaten. There was no way you could have layed that down, it was the second nut (assuming there was no Sraight Flush Possibilities)
