It wasn't a play money game. Real money game. $150 (in $3/6 game) with 8d-8s. Wow! What a shock for the opponents. I never though 8-8 is a winning hand. I didn't describe it on form ONLY because it's not so vivid as it is here: edited out
It was WOW!!!

Who would have thought that a set of 8's could ever win a pot?

It wasn't worth playing before the turn.
2 Dave B:
even 2d-9s with Qd-Ks-Ac on the flop? Tell me how!

When you are heads up against 3d-8s?

I've won two pots in the past two weeks playing a 72o (out of the BB, of course). Both times, I had two pair on the flop; one time, another 2 hit the river for a boat.
If that hand can win a pot, any hand can.

Flafishy.
But you first time you hited at the flop. And TexasLynx hited only at the turn. And at the flop you understand that anyway you have two pairs. I don't think that with that flop anything could be better.
I think that this hand with eights is noticeable for it was made after the turn. Well, I think so...

That's it!!!!
That's what I meant.
It's not a miracle when you win with a small pair just hitting at the flop. But when it happens later.
To Nick How:
was it a real game? or just an example?

To Nick How... again - I don't think anyone will wait till heads-up with this hand!

Texas Lynx I'd advise you to go read your Private Messages.

Nah, was just an example of how that hand could be beaten by your example, which I also think that people wont be playing that hand heads-up
