Hello!
I was playing with some friends yesterday and two of them got a hand which we didn't agree on who wins.
Friend 1: A K
Friend 2: A J
River: 3 8 8 8 5
I say friend 1 wins because of his second kicker is higher.
They say they split the pot because there isn't anything called
second kicker.
I've learned it's the best 5 card combination that wins.
What is right?
Thanks in advance,
Maister

Is correct.
AK wins with the hand 888AK as opposed to 888AJ

friend 1's hand is AK888
friend 2's hand is AJ888
A888 cancel each other out, so friend 1 wins as his K is better than friend 2's J. if the best 5 cards end up being the same it would be a split pot. there are no cards 6 or 7 as some like to claim. top 5 cards only.
