suppose we're in a $5/$10 game and the player in the small blind only has $4. what then? boot 'em? start a side pot?
how about if player in small blind only has $5? can s/he see the flop?
and what if big blind only has $8?
and in each of these 3 cases, how much do the subsequent players pay to see the flop??
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

U can never stop some1 from being in a pot, even if they have 50c to their name. You split off the amount they can pay from each player and that is the main pot. All subsequent bets go into a side pot and the short stacked player sits out effectively til the showdown which decides their fate. Obviously they can only win the main pot, the side pot goes to the next best hand. Hope that helps.
