To all the various posts that talk about getting sucked out on.

Often you start your posts by sharing how successful you are (or have been) at poker, then you begin to doubt your abilities because you've had a bad night or two, then you begin to complain about the players who play badly and end up beating you. Let me explain why you've been succesful. Other players at the table played their 25-1 shots. Other players played their two outers. Other players played 6-3. As much as we good players like to congratulate ourselves on how well we play, on all the successful bluffs, check-raises, laydowns and calldowns, the main reason we win, is that other players make mistakes. If you tilt, you become one of those players. Also realize, that if bad players didn't catch those two-outers or 25-1 shots every once in a while, they'd either (a) stop playing them or (b) stop playing altogether. Both options are very bad for us. Even though I hate to see a bad player walk away with a pile of chips, I know he's gonna give them all back and then some. In fact, in a home game I was in, I actually lost on purpose occassionally, if I had won 3 or 4 weeks in a row and I knew the other players were tired of losing and were ready to quit playing, I'd let them win one week, just so they'd keep coming back.
