My self and a half dozen friends will be going to Alantic City this weekend. Just wondering if any TH-P regulars will be there as well?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I think I could be convinced...
Where are you planning to go?

That's kind of up to the group I guess. Although being probably the biggest one and the organizer of our tourneys and weekly home game I can sway people one way or the other. We are going to be up there from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
It's either Bally's, the Taj, Borgata or more than likely the Tropicana.
There is an 11:15 a.m. $100+$20 NLH tourney that I imagine we will take part in.

The 100+20 is the Sunday freezeout, right? I think I can make it down for that one.

Yeah but the problem is don't think we will be there for that. They want to do a swoop and go to be back for football. So we'd be coming in around 2 or 3 in the afternoon on Saturday and leaving around 10 or so in the am on Sunday. I think that tourney starts at 11:45 am Sunday or somewhere around there.

Can't be certain I can make it down on Saturday night. If I do, it'll be the Trop.

The $6/$12 game at the Trop was very lucrative last night. Bought in for $200 (don't ask) and cashed $675 a few hours later. Didn't see K-rug last night...at least I don't think I did.
At the risk of opening a can of worms, having played both online and in a lot of live games, online play right now is tougher and the quality of opponent is higher than anything you'd find in a random card room, IMHO. With the exception of only a couple of players I saw during my 5 hour session last night, I pretty much had my way with the table.

Damn it!! I was there!!
I was at the 2/4 table along with two friends. My brothers (two of them) and another friend were at another 2/4 table. We got there super late. We didn't arrive and start playing until 9p.m. I got cold cards for almost 6 hours. It was one of those nights. But when I did get something and played I won. I walked out with more than I came in with which is all I can ask for playing for six hours. But my little brother cleaned up raking in $600. I left at 3 a.m. and passed out.
P.S. sorry... Read you were there and wanted to post that I was too. Yes I have to say, online is much tougher at the moment. At the couple of tables I was at it was easy pickings when the cards allowed me to play. Not as many chaser on this 2/4 as there were in Reno. In fact, most of the players were decent. Some were horrible and Kelly the dealer was fantastic!

BTW, damn was it chilly on the board walk last night!

We were there roughly at the same time then. I sat down sometime around 11:30 and left a little after 4.
Wouldn't surprise me if I was sitting at your or your friends' 2/4 table briefly. I put my name on the list for 4/8 and 6/12, and got called for 4/8 first. But somebody goofed, and they seated me at a 2/4 table (for exactly 2 hands) before the 6/12 seat opened up.
And it was damn cold on the boardwalk.

nah it wasn't my table. If there was a big bald guy sitting at your table in about 7-8 position that was my best friend. You probably took his money even though you were there for two hands. He stinks.

how come they are so random with the 3-6 and 6-12 game at the trop, every now and then i see those 2 limits pop-up. But regularly its 2-4, 4-8,5-10, PINK CHIP, 10-20,20-40. Also would others agree that trop is one of the more friendly poker rooms. Been to borgata, and its to bright and the only thing they really have going for them are the waitresses. At the trop most of the dealers are so friendly, as well as the managers, and other players you see there regularly.

3-6 is rare, I'll admit; but, I've always seen a 6-12 running. Best thing to do is ask the host to start a list for the limits you want to play, and then kill time at 2-4 or 4-8. If the room is busy enough, the game gets started faster than you might think. You just need to get the ball rolling.

at trop 6-12 is rare, cause they are famous for the pink chip game 7.50-15.00
