Bankroll/Table Stakes/How much to sit with/what limits? |

Yeah, i've touched on this in another topic, but I am looking for additional clarity.
What are the general guidelines of bankroll vs. what size tables you play? (ie I have $XXXX of a bankroll, therefore I should only bring 1/Y of that to a table...therefore I should only play at a $x/$X Table)
Also, how much of your bankroll should you bring to a table? (1/5, 1/10, 1/25)
I play mostly LIMIT holdem....currently the cheapest tables ($0.5/$1 on PP.com).
Some say only you should have in your bankroll enough to cover 200-300 Big Bets (so to sit at a $.50/$1 table, i should have a bankroll of $200-$300), and I should bring 50 x the Big Blind to the table (big blind = $0.50, so $25).
So if the 200x Big Bet guideline is being used, then I should stay at the $0.5/$1 tables until I have 200x Big Bet of the next step up (next step up of a table is $1/$2, therefore i should play the $0.5/$1 table until I have 200 x $2 = $400)
I don't know if this is too conservative, or what...but at the $0.5/$1 seems as if it will take forever.
Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

That's the point. You are supposed to take a while before moving up because when you're ready you should have accomplished two things.
1) Be extremely comfortable and confident playing at your current level and gained a substantial amount of experience at that level.
2) Have enough money that you can go on a losing streak while adjusting to the play of the new level.

I understand what you're saying...but time and time again people are saying things like "You won't notice much of a difference at PP.com between the $0.50/$1 tables and the $5/$10 tables...."

All the more reason to hone your skills at the lower price tables.

Meatwad's right. You may not notice much difference between the quality of play at various levels, except (if you're not ready) you lose faster at higher levels...
You're right, it is a grind. But, you get a good handle on how to play at (hopefully) relatively small cost.
Think of it as tuition.
