anyway i got 10 10, someone raises pre flop 6 times blinds, i call, as does another.
Flop 456..they check , I move all in for $16, confident they've missed and putting them to a decision. The original raiser instantly folds, the other takes for an age and calls.
I think perhaps he's on the flush draw...2 clubs out there on board. He turns over A clubs (2 clubs on flop) and an 8.. I figure its a odd call when you consider hes all in now too.
Anyway turn is 6 of diamonds, (no flush draw) then the river is a 7!
I question his all in, only for others to question why i put so much money in what was a pretty small pot...$6 roughly, saying that i deserved to lose it.
I say that i moved all in because i thought i had the strongest hand, after all the game is NL and if he was calling I knew i would be outright favourite.
Anyway just thought i'd share that beat with you guys, if you got any comments i'd appreciate any..Thinking back i could have maybe re-raised pre flop..but with another caller before me I didnt want to go into a flop full of overcards or maybe even a higher pocket but appreciate any views, thanks in advance.

i don't like your all-in move. there was a straight draw as well as a flush draw on the board and you had one pair. generally not a hand you want to be all-in with, particularily after your big pre-flop raise was called. you could have just as easily run into a bigger pocket pair in that situation. don't get me wrong, the guy got lucky catching his straight, but your play in this hand was overly-agressive IMO.

Thanks for the response...I was pretty sure he didnt have a higher pocket pair though because this guy would not have checked to me, i put him on maybe A j at best, and was hoping to steal the pot there.
Maybe I should not have moved all in with just an overpair, but I was pretty sure I had him beat if he called, but it happens.
I don't think i could call an all in if I was in his position, with 1 overcard and an inside straight draw.
Thanks for your response again, much appreciated.

actually i like the play if you are confident that you have the best hand. certaintly there is the straight draw on board but who's staying in with 7,8 or 2,3 with a pre flop raise. i mean it happens but most likely not. the only thing you have to be worried about it a set of 4's,5,'s or 6's and of course a higher pocket pair. but if you are confident you have the best hand, then i dont see anything wrong with the play.
but personally i would have just made a bet of 2/3 the pot or a pot sized bet because if the original raiser reraises you, you can probably muck and assume he has a higher pocket pair.
