Are these really Bud Jones chips? They look similar to some of the composites I've seen.

Wow, since when did Bud Jones start hot stamping suited 11.5g chips? That's too funny!

Bud Jones Paulson Chips...........
16 Bucks is about right.

Actually that is a Bud Jones chip. Bud Jones makes several different plastic chips and that is their cheapest chip. As far as the quality being better than Paulson---NO WAY.
Here is a similar chip made for the Landmark in Las Vegas.

Thanks for the info! So is it similar in weight and feel to the suited composites? I noticed the white chip on the ebay auction is different from the composites (gray suits instead of blue).

It is not similiar to the suited chips you see. This particular Bud Jones chip does not have a metal coin in it. I would guess it is an eight gram chip.

OMG! What a fraud! The Landmark used Paul-Son Top Hat chips for their NCV chips.
http://www.silver-state-treasures.com/lasvegs/landmark.htm
The one in your picture is the China chip that they sell at Target and Wal*Mart with a hot stamp on it (no metal slug). The Landmark stamp is like the China slug dice chips that have the Landmark hotstamp on them with values. Bud Jones, what a laugh!

I am always amazed at how many so called experts there are out there.
Here is another picture I took right from the silver state website. Recognize that chip mold??? Looks alot like the Landmark.

Notice the "BJ" mint mark on this chip.
Who is the guest? It might not be someone with an overpriced website?

Casinos use several chip suppliers for thier chips. Just because Landmark used Paulson, it doesn't mean that Bud Jones is excluded.
Ive seen casinos use Chipco for lower denominations and Paulson for higher den.

if u notice correctly the Landmark chip says No Cash Value on it.
that means its used for Poker tournaments. therefore the Guest knows absolutley nothing. Casinos used cheap chips for thier tournaments cause really there is no point in using good chips on tournament chips that have no cash value to them.
i agree about these so called "experts". i have heard so much on these boards i take with grains of salt. most people here are under 21 and never been to vegas in their life, and they claim to know more than everyone else. PLEASE!

I don't know if these are bud jones chips or not, I was told they were not.
Either way, I have the high bid so please don't raise the price.
thanx,
Ronny

NCV chips are used for a number of purposes, usually promotional like Play Value only (eg. bus/air junkets where you get 'action' chips that you can only play but not cash in). I think the tournament chips that you're thinking of sometimes also has Tournament Play in addition to NCV on it.
Don't know about people never having been to Vegas, but I was next door at the LVCC a couple of weeks after the real Landmark Hotel was imploded. Don't know which of their chips are real, seems that there are a lot of fantasy chips with their name floating around. I can certainly see where a chip with a nice bright shiny hotstamp could be suspected if the actual casino was blown up almost a decade ago.

They're not for Poker -- last time I was in Vegas I went to the 4 queens and they don't even have Poker! Kind of a misuse of the name?

Were they known for their gay, cross-dressing orgies?

Yeah, I think Vegas should revoke their name! How can you name a casino after a Poker hand and not have a Poker room? Geez!

4 queens has nothing to do with poker. Its a river boat theme.
and yes they do have poker, in fact a pretty large poker room at that.
my god the igonorance on this board is amazing.

Here's an idea. Instead of dumping on the board because a few people made a mistake, why don't you go f*ck yourself.
EDIT: Also interesting that the only poker they mention on their website is 3 card, carribean stud, let it ride and pai gow. That's an amazing array of games there. Maybe they should update their website.

ignorance is unbelievable on this board and this is just another example. most people here have no clue about Vegas, poker, and casinos. i come here expecting to get knowlegable answers, but i have learned that most of the time i know more than most people here and its better if i just figure things out for myself.

How about go to Vegas and actually look inside the casino jackass. you are trying to be sarcastic, but in reality it really showed how stupid you are.

i shouldnt even be giving you guys this information considering how "friendly" you are on these boards. un-f*cking-believable.

Then take a hike jackass. You're the idiot who started getting pissy.

I don't see where you've contributed anything except being a dick LOL which is kinda amusing I guess... Not everyone can live in Vegas or go there every year. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here and I thank the entire board for the help and knowledge I've received here.
And if you're such a big man, how about getting an account or at least using a nick so that people can know you and you can be accountable for your posts, you know, like an adult.

I missed most of this yesterday, but since the first bitchy comment was addressed to me, I feel I should respond:
Ignorance? First of all, most of us on this board are not under 21. I am 32. I've been to Vegas too many times to count. However, last time I was there was a little over a year ago at which time 4 queens did not have a Poker room.
Regardless, I agree with Meatwad and everyone else: GO F*CK YOURSELF! If you don't like our board, if we're not intelligent enough for you, go find another board filled with only people that claim to be experts. Of course, that board does not exist. Maybe you can start your own board and delete all posts that don't live up to your expectations. This of course would leave you by yourself, which is where you are anyway. Get a life!
I assume that you are needleing all of us and are somehow getting a rise out of it. Why else would you hide behind a guest login? Do you need help with a nickname? How about ass-clown or bottom feeder? I could go on about what a loser and coward you are, but I don't want to waste my time. Please do not bother responding. I will not respond to you unless you at least identify yourself.
CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING POSITIVE OR GET OFF OUR BOARD!
