I ordered Lee Jones' Winning Low Limit Hold'em book since I started playing some 3/6 at a local cardroom. I also started playing limit online since I always got my ass handed to me at NL by the guy playing queen deuce after a 5x BB raise. (but they were suited). Everywhere I've read has given this book good reviews. Any of you guys read it? What do you think?

Everythign people say about this book is true. I read it over the weekend and it's so detailed. It goes over every possible situation and how to deal with it in low-limit games. I was pretty good at limit hold'em before I read it but now I actually win consistently. You can't really go wrong reading it... plus he's a humorous guy.

i agree. i finished the book yesterday. and last night had a great run at 1/2. made an unreal 15BB/hr for 10 hours. hopefully i'm playing better and it wasn't just a super lucky run of cards.

Nope, I think it's safe to say that had nothing to do with just getting lucky cards. I managed to win 25BB playing a couple of hours last night using the strategies in this book. Sure, I got lucky flopping a few sets here and there, but when you play good cards and make smart bets, you put yourself in a position to make money.
You might also want to think about picking up Randy Burgess' book. It goes into detail about the stuff Lee Jones' book doesn't, like reading hands and tells and dealing with bad beats and bad nights at the lower limits, etc. Plus I think his discussion of odds and implied odds is a little clearer than Jones'. Good stuff.

I actually just ordered Small Stakes Hold'em today. I'll go through that one before I get another, but thanks for the recommendation. I added you to my party poker buddy list... maybe i'll sit in at one of your tables one day.

Yeah, that'd be fun... although, I'm not sure I want people who have read WWLH sitting at my table.
I also have Small Stakes Hold 'em, but haven't read it yet. I'm finishing up the Burgess book and then I'm going to read some tournament books because I have a $50 tournament that my boss is running coming up, so I want to brush up on that. Plus, I'm doing pretty well online with these two books, so I'll probably wait until everything really sinks in to the point where I don't even think about it to read the Ed Miller book, though I am looking forward to it.

Well I'm not a 100% follower of his teachings, but they did help me quite a bit. Knowing what book I've read might help you actually since you'll know what hands I'm likely to play. Good luck at that tournament.

Outstanding book. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You may not agree with every detail, but a very sound book for the loose low limit games, or any loose game regardless of level.
Covers alot of areas very well. Easy to read and understand. I read HEFAP before I read this and got very little out of HEFAP. After I read Winning Low Limit, HEFAP made alot more sense to me and I got alot more out of it.
