I fly in about noon on Monday Nov 8th. No official functions until 6:00 that night. We are staying at TI. I think that POKER is in order. the Question is... do i make the trek to Luxor for $50 NL? Or do I go next door to the Mirage for some 4-8 or 5-10 limit. I could also make it to the Harrahs across the street. Any opinions??

Mirage's room is nice. They have 3/6 and 6/12, along with some NL and higher limit games. I'd hit the Mirage if I were you.

I only played limit when I was there, but I believe the max buyin is in the $200 range for NL.

I think that it might be 5/2 $100 (could be $200) buyin NL. 6/12 is loose and 10/20 is tight. 3/6 is the lowest, loose.
Skip Harrahs(not much action if any) and walk to Bellagio. 4/8 lowest up to whatever.
I stayed at Mirage for under $100/night if you play 6 hours/day. Might save you some over TI.
My advice for the cash games-identify the locals vs tourists. Locals=tight tourist = rich and stupid (in general mind you).

the beauty thing is the trip is all comped!!!! no cash outlay, so all of my extra lettuce goes to poker, booze, and strippers........ Well maybe just poker and booze....... wait a minuite.... booze is free in Vegas..... YES!!!!!!

Palms was very fishy when I was there, but the poker room is incredibly cramped and very smoky (low ceilings). Only rooom out of Mirage, Bellagio, Excalibur, Mandalay and Palms that allows smoking in the room.

Plaza allows smoking, but it's got a very high ceiling and it's quite open. They did say they're getting a new room in a few weeks, so I don't know what the policy will be then...
