Im in the prelimerary stages of picking a poker table. Im looking for a full table not on of the the folding ones. Just the table though and not chairs. If you would be nice enough to post some examples of what you think is the best that would be nice. Some of you will also tell me to build it but as of now im just looking. thank you.

I dont have any expirience with them but someone on the 2+2 forum got a table from www.pokerboard.com/ and it looked like a pretty nice table. A little pricey though. HTH

Homepokertourney.com has a list and links to sites selling tables. Mostly Oak and Mahogany in the pedestal variety which from the sound of it is what you're looking for. Some reasonable prices...some not so reasonable.
Is it just me or does it seem like the tables are reasonable, but the matching chairs (with the leather and wheels) are the real killers at $200+ a pop that seem to keep the prices high. I personally find the swiveled, rolling chairs a bit annoying.

I hear that about the pricy chair bit. How ever I really wanted a nice roller/swiveled chair. So I went down to Office Depot and found a fairly nice Black Leather, Ajustable hight, wheeled, Swiveled, office chair I bought 9 per table on the spot and then got 6 of the Bigger ones for the dealer seats.
Each chair costed 39 a pop but since I bought so many of them They gave me a bulk discount.
I find these chair to be pretty nice for the tables. not too confortable that my players will fall asleep in them. with the Swivel it gives the players to show yet another tell. one of my players his entire upper body is completly still no matter what. but when he had a great hand or the nutts he just can't keep still in his chair.
If it was a folding chair or one with out a swivel, we (or at least I) wouldn't be able to see it. Actuly I think I'm the only one who knows his tell.
Then again I've seen some fairly cheap confortable folding chairs. when I've gone around looking for room accessorys I think I just may have sat in every sort of chair known to man. anyways these chair cost about 10-15 a pop and come in a verity of colors.
As far as Tables go. I would be selling mine over the Internet for about 300 a pop. These tables have a pedestal base and use 98% of the material gather for it. the corners are throw away but the extra oval that most of these Home builders are finding with their racetrack tables don't seen to think that maybe that part left over can actuly become a really stable base.
To keep cost down I say build your own but there are a few Tables out there worth every penny you pay for them. But these tables are at least 500 a pop. the rull of thumb here is "You get what you pay for"
Hope that give you a few ideas,
