If they had some nice double edgespots they'd be great.

Ditto. What the hell is a turf club anyway?

In many casinos they put the sports book next to (or in) the poker room since these are two of the lower income bringers for the house. At the Tropicana in AC the sports book is in fact called the Turf Club and is bascially part of the poker room.
Turf Club refers to horse racing specifically (in the UK & Ireland bookies for horse racing are called Turf Accountants). I don't mean to be pedantic I just threw that out there in case anyone didn't know.
I like the inserts for those chips, the shapes are very old school. I too wish they had edge spots. Though I know why they don't, I also wish Blue Chips had a bit more heft.

Mike Spinetti was working with Dave Endy from Blue chip to create a chip with a "classic vintage" look. This was what they came up with.
I def like chips with edge spots better, but edge spotting would of messed up the "feel" of this chip.
These are AWESOME chips, I love the simplicity of them.
