where can i feast my eyes on a site that shows all the preflop hand strengths, matchup odds, and stuff like that? I heard last night on WPT that 55 was an even match to 78 suited.. i was baffled, and realized i really need to brush up on my hand strengths. THANKS ALL Wink

Hey Nick, welcome aboard!

Check out this page on this very site:

http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/calculator.php

Which shows you the odds of each starting hand.

Any pocket pair eg 55 vs two over cards eg 78 is roughly 50/50. In this case, 78 vs 55 is probably more like 53/47 in favour of the 55 because to make a straight with the 78 going downwards, 2 of the 5s that may be needed are gone which slightly swings it toward the guy with 55.

You will pick all this up quite quick, it's worth knowing when you are sat at the tables!

And not to take away from the tools here at this site, but Cardplayer.com also has a poker odds calculator.
