In a heads up situation, putting a player on 2 overcards, dueces become= to jacks or queens. sure your odds improve slightly with 4's to 10's because of the straight possibility. too many players get so brave with a hand like JJ, if they are sure the opponent has overs, and the same player will lay down 33 . both being about the same coin flip. if you like to gamble, don't muck those little pairs, against overs, same chance as QQ against AK.......... thoughts? why are so many players so eager to push with AK or AQ against a known pocket pair ? doesn't the reverse apply? ... GOOD LUCK...

Because with AK, you KNOW you have overcards to any pair except AA and KK. When you have QQ, the only overcards are AK, but when you have 55, a player could have 86 and have overcards on you. There is a much smaller margin of error with the overcards.
If you have AT and think your opponent has pocket 9s, then you figure to have two over cards. But what if you're read was off and he has JJs. Now you have only one overcard and he's got you 2:1. Or even worse, he has pocket 10s. Now your 10 is completely dead.
