Hey guys, I saw some of your chip designs and thought they were pretty cool. So thought I would like to make my own labels to put on my chips. So does anybody know of any label software out there that could help me do it myself?

I am not sure if there is such a thing as label software (maybe 5stardeal has it for their customers), however, if you are proficient with any type of drawing program (i think PaintShop Pro, Illustrator, and FreeHand are great - photoshop might be too complex for most users), you can just draw a 1" circle at about 300-450 DPI and just go from there. If you do it that way you have a lot more control over what you want anyways. If you arent printing it yourself and are gonna get someone to print it for you you might as well pass the ideas to whoever is making them for you. I am getting Lynbark to do my stuff cuz i think his designs are very sweet.
Hope that helped

Lynbarks stuff did look good, I even got some samples from him. There are a number of sellers on ebay who'll get you 1000 or so labels for varying prices between 15-20 bucks.
I've been working with this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63756&item=6129384103&rd=1
and I must say he's VERY customer friendly. Been responding very quickly to emails, and at my request, sent me 1 full page each of 4 custom designs which I sent him, at no charge. That's customer service. I'm finishing my design now and will be placing the 19.99 buy it now order from his ebay site soon.

Wordlabel.com sells the 1" labels and has links to MS Word and Adobe PDF templates on their site. See the following link:

There is also a link to a SureThing Office Labeler template. I used the demo version of this software for creating my labels. See www.surething.com

How well do those labels work?
Do they stick tight?
Are they resistant to smudging, moisture?
I bought some 1" labels from Office Depot and printed them with my ink jet printer. I stuck them on some chips and the deisgn was easily smudged.
I assume laser printed will be better.
If you do want to try and print your own, Avery has Free software http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=software.AverySoftwareDetail&catalogcode=WEB01&softwarecode=3200

When I was investigating labels I sent an email to worldlabel.com and they sent me samples sheets of their paper and "weatherproof" (vinyl) labels. I ended up ordering the 1” round weatherproof labels for use with laser printers. When I printed my final labels, I also sealed them with a Krylon spray called Preserve It.
Last night I took one of my chips and put it in a glass of water for about 2 hours. When I took it out of the water, the label was the same – the color had not run and I was not able to smudge the graphic. Another good thing about the vinyl labels is that when you want to remove them - they peel off in one piece instead of ripping like the paper ones do.
