Will keep you all updated about the progress.
Here was the ordering process so far - it was a mix of good and bad.
When I called, the person that picked up was nice and courteous. I ordered a chip set and KEM cards.
So far so good.
Now some bad.
Their website has a 110% lowest price guarantee, i mentioned 1 site and told them a bunch of other sites had KEM cards about 10 dollars cheaper. They said they couldnt match it because the other places werent selling their design (which to be honest i really dun like - but its ok i just need to save on shipping). Then I saw most places sold them around 2X so i just need to save about 10 bucks or so. They then said they couldnt do that because it would be under their cost - that kinda made me think not so nicely of the 110% low price guarantee.
Now some good.
I wanted some purple and orange chips so i asked if they could throw that in as a free sample, so in response to not matching the KEM price the guy (supposedly a manager - i dunno, they passed me around back and forth saying they always have to talk to their manager - in this case i see at least 3 levels of mgmt for a 5 dollar or so action) they throw in a few purple chips and a few orange chips (a total of 7 - i only asked for 7).
Now the bad.
Not their fault at all, but i live in Asia, but the original shipping was 97 dollars or so. When i added the KEM cards they told me shipping was 117 dollars. TWENTY DOLLARS EXTRA TO SHIP A SMALL PACKAGE OF KEMS. I asked them if they could just pack it in the casing and cram it in and help me save some money. They said they couldnt, cuz the labor would cost money (??? open teh case put the cards in??). I said ok, i have my own company DHL and UPS accounts, how bout i just tell UPS to pick it up, and i pay you guys a handling fee or somethign - they said no. WHY? Supposedly i am paying cost on shipping anyways, and i offered handling. Finally, i asked for a 10 bucks discount just to sway my decision, they said no, and i asked for 4 bucks and htey said yes.
So overall good and bad.
I am looking forawrd to receiving the chips. I am also looking at the package, because if i see that its a ten second effort to put the kems in the case i will be slightly peeved. But so far, the experience has been alright.
