Burned in my first Casino Tournament |

After about 30 minute I get pocket rockets. I raise pre-flop get re-raised and I call. The flop come K K A. Holy crap I've got A's full in five cards. I bet and next player goes all in. I also push in my stack. We flip our cards and the other guy has K K, yes four of a kind to my full house. Ouch tough lose to take. I'm new to tournaments ... does this type of thing happen often or did I just get really unlucky?

That does not happen often at all. You did the right thing in my opinion.

Like Nut Flush said no you won't see that too many times. Was there a bad beat jackpot? Most casinos have a jackpot for a hand like that getting beat.

usually bad beats are when you lose with quad 7s or quad 8s with using both hole cards to a higher quads, straight flush or royal

Side note, the card house I usally play has 2 jackpots, the small one is As full of Ts or better beat. The big one is 8888 get beat.

ive seen them lower than that. You are thinking of online ones where there are so many freaking hands played they have to make the requirements high so it gets big before it hits.
