How about PLAIN Paulson Chips???

Posted Wed Nov 10, 2004 9:04 am GMT by Zion007
I just e-mailed GPI Gaming, and asked "What about selling PLAIN chips to the public?".

After looking over the pdf file on Gaming Chips over at gpigaming.com, I noticed some Paulson-logo chips and thought "Why not?".

They could make plenty of money by selling chips in different colors without doing custom inlays (or only a select number) and make plenty of money.

Anyone willing to contact them and ask about this?

And why not? Is there a logical explanation to this? They're not making any money on all of the GREAT Paulson chips being sold on e-bay, so why WOULDN'T they want any of the action? Are they making THAT much money with casinos that a few million "stock" chips aren't worth making money on?

Yes, they are making that much money. As far as the chips floating around on eBay, they've already made their money on them.

Look I'd love to have Paulsons available again and I'm sure they could sell boat fulls of them, though remember chiphounds like us are not as numerous as those desiring any old set of 11.5g for $50.

As another memeber has pointed out (paulsonchips in fact) they'd have to make another mold/line if they were ever going to sell to the public again and they're not of a mind to do so. Put yourself in their shoes, if your primary business is selling 100,000 chips at a time to the MGM, Bellagio, etc, why are you going to sweat the 500 chips at a time market. Again there is money to be made there, but if you're not adequately tooled up for it what are you gonna choose.

All of this said I do wish they'd explore the option of some stock and semi custom sets. There are in fact an goodly numbe of Paulsons out there at the moment.

Also, I think consumers are just a pain to deal with. I know I am! We want the perfect chips whereas a Casino wants their name on it and not much else.

At least Chipco still sells to the public. Hopefully that wont change!
