Seems like with that many choices, you'll have paralysis thru analysis. I'd have the main order guy pick five or so names, and make a poll.

Yeah, we'll use this thread to see which ones people like most then have a vote I guess.

I'm not a buyer, but I like "Halfmoon Bay Casino" and "Ocean's Casino".

For the record, I think my 2 favorites from that list are Halfmoon Bay Casino and Echo Valley Casino.

Caribbean Sun Resort & Casino

Gold Coast Resort & Casino

Tulum Ruins Casino or Tulum Bay resort & casino

Ok, I guess I got started on a tropical kind of theme.... for the Tulum one we could have some sort of mayan art or statue or something graphic.

otherwise, I think Ocean's Casino is on to something, but missing something as well,

Golden Horseshoe is good too.

Think about that mayan ruins theme, could be cool...

Posted Sat Nov 13, 2004 2:52 pm GMT by slowplayray
I agree, I like the ruins theme too.

This could be one of the toughest decisions ever...

Posted Sat Nov 13, 2004 3:31 pm GMT by babyhawg
My 2 favs are Halfmoon Bay and Thunder Bay

Posted Sat Nov 13, 2004 4:39 pm GMT by gpc
Halfmoon Bay and High Limit Lounge sound pretty good. For Ocean's or Ocean Casino maybe a gentleman in a tuxedo with a hat for a design I am still thinking about it. For the Halfmoon Bay a design similar to the logo found on miller high life would really be cool. Ruins are interesting as well.... Stonehenge?

How about -- Black Lodge -- i like the masonic context.

Posted Sat Nov 13, 2004 6:42 pm GMT by slowplayray
So I didn't know there actually was a Halfmoon Bay:

And it's in British Columbia! Which I happen to love for multiple reasons...

- Halfmoon Bay Casino, British Columbia -

Oh - and there's another one, haha:

Personally, I'm not crazy about halfmoon bay. I like Echo Valley Resort and Thunder Bay

www.d-roy.com/thunder_bay.jpg How's This?

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 12:11 am GMT by coyote
I wish I had a clue as how to do those kind of graphics so I could play around with ideas.

hint.

what do I need to know??

p.s. that thunderbay chip has some real promise!

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 12:19 am GMT by HELO
A Computer and Photoshop.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 3:11 am GMT by babyhawg
HELO,

I'm really digging the thunder bay design. How 'bout throwin some more color combos at us.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 6:38 am GMT by ncskiier
I'd like to see an Echo Valley Chip with the denomiation center. Something like this

Whenever you get time. Thanks

I live in L.A. and Echo Valley makes me think of Echo Park... and The S.F. Valley. - Both not very nice places.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 12:32 pm GMT by gpc
I am not quite sold on any one name myself. Maybe a few more ideas:
Lucky Cactus
or lucky in front of any noun

Eagle Valley Ranch or just about anything infront

I must admit I that I am having reservations about Bays and Valleys but if the chips are TRKings with double edge spots I could force my self to like almost any name.

I am still not clear. Are the edge spots painted on or solid all the way through?

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 12:35 pm GMT by slowplayray
I am far from sold on Thunder Bay, personally.

The edge spots are the real deal - all the way through. I am loving my TR King samples, closest thing in feel to Foxwood's Paulsons that I have come across so far. Whoever made that "painted on" comment was referring to the edge spots not being perfectly straight - but who would want them to be anyway?

I say NO NAME! Come up with a cool graphic, denom or no denom. Skip the name!

2 cents,

From the looks of this, either someone has to put a foot down and make a decision, or it will go on forever with someone liking this name, and not liking this name, etc.

I may consider buying some chips when everything is finalized if I like them.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 8:11 pm GMT by ncskiier
This is what I had in mind. Keep in mind I'm no graphic designer

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 8:16 pm GMT by B_rock
What a coincidence! I had just received my sample chip from TRK today and I came across this forum where like minded individuals are getting a group buy going on the chips I love.

Some thoughts:

1-There was a post with images of chips with the inlay of "Pelican Bay" which someone designed. I love the font on these chips and feel it really follows the retro/old school theme that is trying to be achieved.

2-I have had a series of email conversations with Dennis from TRK and based on our discussions it is possible to use the existing Kings Crown inlay, but add custom colours and multi coloured edgespots, at a lower cost than if the chip was fully designed to our specs. Just a thought.

It would be great if we can get this off the ground soon, so I am all for a vote of names and designs. I'm not a designer but I'm going to put some ideas down and hopefully post within the next few days.

www.d-roy.com/lodge.jpg you guys are picky.... if this is how its going to be with name... imagine how it will be with the design... oh i dont feel good Crying

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 9:26 pm GMT by slowplayray
Can someone host some small pictures for me? I am working on some ideas I wanna run by you. PM with your email and I'll send over what I got.

Much appreciated!

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 9:28 pm GMT by ncskiier
imageshack.us It's very easy.

Posted Mon Nov 15, 2004 10:57 pm GMT by slowplayray
Thanks.

What do you guys think of this:

Posted Tue Nov 16, 2004 12:29 am GMT by slowplayray
This idea is largely plagiarized from another sample I got, but I like the design so much I wanted to share:

Another Halfmoon Bay variation:

Posted Tue Nov 16, 2004 1:15 am GMT by babyhawg
I really like slowplayray's designs. The El desperado and 2 color Halfmoon Bay are really sweet! I especially like the red denominations they really make them stand out.

One more before I retire for the night, in the name of compromise:

Posted Tue Nov 16, 2004 10:14 am GMT by babyhawg
WHOA, that echo valley inlay is the sweetest one yet! Way to go Ray! I think I've got a new favorite. :D

Now i'm just gonna throw some stuff out there and see what sticks. On an inlay like that Echo Valley the font is everything. What do you guys think about tinkering with the font? The inlay itself is exactly what I'm looking for. From here it's just a matter of deciding on a name for me. How 'bout using that inlay and just experimenting with names and fonts? What does everybody else think?

Posted Tue Nov 16, 2004 10:27 am GMT by Guest
I don't know. I think I like the other E.V. design better.

Posted Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:52 pm GMT by gpc
I have noticed nothing new in awhile. Has interest been lost? I personally am still up for a group buy.

If anyone is still interested I thought of "Black Felt Casino" designed similar to WSOP logo would be pretty generic yet unique especially if one were to have a black felt poker table. Which I don't

Anyway, let me know if anyone is still thinking about this or going another route. I know some of you got ahold of some Casbah Club chips.

What about something like The Lucky Horseshoe with some sort of horseshoe design.
