Does anyone know of any holdem' software out there? I'm fairlynew to the game, and not always able to get connected. I would like to play at the times I can't connect up, as I travel.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Wilson Software. They make several different programs. Turbo Hold'em is probably the one you want. They run about $80.

there is a $10. US casino game called 'Vegas Jackpot Gold'
that has a bunch of card games, including TX hold-em, and
Omaha. It is'nt online though, you physically have to go
get it at any discount software place. It's pretty cool,, a bit
cheesy, but a good way to learn games.

dDiehr is on top of this again. (hmmmm....getting to be a habit with him...not a guy I think I care to bumb into in my local casino.)
The word is the at Wilso Turbo Texas Hold'em is unsurpassed. The best game simulation stuff around. Also allows you to test various stratagies with a hand against different types of opposition and from different seats. Quite sophisticated. I guess it can run 10,000 simulation hands in minutes and graph the results.
You can go to there website and download a free demo. I did that last week but I still haven't had a chance to try it.

Anyone that's played heads up with Poki and friends at UAlberta will be pleased to know that Aaron and Co. have released a commercial personal training simulator: http://www.poki-poker.com
(No, I don't work for them; I'm a newbie to poker, but have played and enjoyed a few 10/20 hands with an infinite bankroll against their AI)
