NJ Clays

Posted Tue Nov 23, 2004 6:33 pm GMT by Craig_W
Hi all. My first post, and anfter searching, I really didn't come up with any specific opinions on the new NJ Clay chips.

I have read several reviews about these chips, but now that blue chip is making NJ classics, how are they? Are the center spots actually in the center?

I'm hoping MSPatton or Paulsonchips can give some advice, and anyone else that has experience with them. Thnx

You will not mistake these chips for 'real' Paulson chips. However, they are very good chips. If you're hyper-picky about graphic centering, then you should look somewhere else, and, if you want to stick to 'clay', be prepared to spend a fair amount more cash. Overall, the majority of NJ's chips I have are extremely well made, and the centers are very 'centered'. The molds for both the Martini Club and Neveda chips are one of a kind and only found at NJ. They are also former 'real' casino molds. Mold wise, I think NJ has the best two out there for a consumer poker chip. Out of all the different chips I can play with, I continually find myself going back to the Martini Club chips time and time again. Call NJ and get some samples. Make sure you handle the chips a lot after getting them, because the 'clay' material wil absorb your hand oils and really enhance the appearance and feel of the chip.

Happy shopping,
John

I really like the NJ chips, but they seems a little too "dry" for me. There's something about the texture that I just cant get used to. However, VERY NICE CHIPS. The graphics are kind of too busy for me too.

NJ Clays are off center a lot. Not as much as the James Bond chips as they are made in a smaller batch, but if this doesnt bother you and you like the graphics, go with this chip.

If you want top workmanship PER CHIP, go with ASM's they are the best quality chips out there, I say beating Paulsons in this area. The only problem with them is the lack of edgespotting and thier weight.

Again, like everyone else says, if you're gonna spend 5-900 bucks on a set, dont be cheap and shell out the 20 bucks to get a SAMPLE!

Hey, thanks a bunch for your replies. Guess I'm sorta the impatient type, so I went ahead and ordered them. I am kinda picky, but not hyper picky. I'm sure there will be several chips I won't be happy with, but NJ said they would replace them. Hopefully there will only be a handful that don't pass the inspection. (prays)

NJ said all but the 1000's shipped today. I'll let ya all know how they look.

Craig
