I think most everyone on this board will concur. You can also add A+ to the list.

Didnt Kem get bought out?
Anyone know what the status of the company will be? Will they still be making cards, even if under new name?

KEM is pretty much the only answer your going to get here. Try ebay as for gettting them cheap.

US Playing Card Co. is relocating the machinery to make the KEM cards to their factory. Whos knows when they'll start up again. By then my guess is Copag will have already stolen the market.

KEM are the best full stop. I think they'll be available sometime in '05. FWIW I just got a set up of KEMs from the in laws this weekend that they got in the 1950s and they are still in excellent shape. We've been using nothing but KEM card in my game for a year and I've used basically just the one set up (I've since bought two more just because).
Copags are supposed to be a good substitute, but I personally haven't used them.

FWIW it just occurred to me to fire off an E-mail to US Playing Card:
| Quote: | It's my understanding that your company has purchased the name/license/equipment/? to make KEM brand plastic cards. If you do own the line when will these be available and will they be available to the general public.

If/when I get a reply I'll post it here.

This is the response (every bit of it) I got back from USPCC, which I assume means it will be sometime early '05. I guess.
