How do you know that someone's going to slowplay?
Or it is impossible to notice it?
As for me - it's a good strategy for nut hands whey it is you who hold them. But what if your opponent is slowplaying?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Just play close attention to your opponents and keep good notes. Most poor players will either Slow play way to much, or not very often at all. If you notice an opponent is check-raising all the time, then you should be careful to put a bet in the pot unless you feel that you have the best hand. If he keeps watching everyone check and see free cards, he will be more reluctant to slow-play.
If you have the goods, it can be profitable to slow play ONLY if the board isn't dangerous...such as 2 suited or 2 connected cards, as giving free cards could be costly.

The only good time to slow play is when you are heads up with an over aggressive player or you have an unbeatable hand (quads, straight flush). Otherwise you are just asking for a bad beat by allowing others to draw out.
I have noticed that most people who slow play a lot are rocks who know that if they bet at all everyone will fold. If the slow play seems to be the best weapon in your arsenal you need to loosen up your game and splash a few chips around.
