Passive
Adjective to describe a player who frequently calls and rarely bets.

Aggressive
Adjective to describe a player who raises and re-raises and rarely calls.

Got this from the link Tony provided. I will come out betting when I have top pair/high kicker I will raise when I feel I have the best hand or a damn good chance. I make pot sized bets after the flop etc when I do bet, but if someone leads the betting I will simply call it out a lot. Get me 2 pair and I'm raising.

With that said I don't seem to fall directly into either category so what am I? If I have top pair I come out betting so that throws passive out but if I have top pair and someone else leads the betting I will usually call until the board improves me so that's not exactly aggressive either. I seem to fall in the middle. So what am I?

keep this in mind:

tight can be a positive quality
loose can too
agressive is usually a positive quality
passive is rarely ever a positive quality unless you have a moron agressive player at the table.

My advice for starters is tight and agressive, and as you become better and better slowly move to loose and agressive, which is the most profitable style if you can play it well.
