Well, first I tried the taj, it was crazy there on friday, waiting list a mile long... signed up and played craps a little while with my buddies... went back 2 check an hour later and was still way down on the list so I headed to bally's.
Got on the 2/4 list there, only 2 people ahead of me. waited about 5-10 min.
I only got to play for about an hour and a half 'cause my buddies wanted to get goin, walked away from the table with up $51. so, i was pretty happy with that.
over all it was pretty fun. I gotta try to make it down there on a non-holiday weekend next time. maybe play a higher limit table or a tourney.

The Trop was completely packed on Friday night as well. Normally, I don't have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a seat. Friday, it was well over an hour before a 7.50/15 seat opened up.
Couple of quick highlights...1) playing 3-handed with a $1 rake for two hours in the morning, and then heads-up while one of the guys took a break for 15 minutes or so...2) I hold JJ, flop comes J33, another poor bastard in the hand had J3. We got down to heads-up and unlimited raising. Took him 6 re-raises before he realized what I had. Nice guy though. He made most of it back from some maniac who sat down later in the morning.

Just be glad he didn't have 33 or you'd be starting a bad beat thread here. 8)

I've never played holdem in AC, but I live not that far from New Brunswick in Red Bank. Any recommendations?

Probably. After all, those live games are all rigged for action anyway.

I really don't know of any local home games, I'm afraid. I'll get together with some friends in South Jersey every now and then for a game, but it's hard to make it a regular thing because a) the distance and b) they don't like playing with me very much.
Mostly, I'll just play online, and I head to AC just about every weekend now. I prefer the live games because I've got a much bigger bankroll compared to my online accounts; and, I'm a pretty sociable player so I like to joke around and have fun at the table. Hard to do that with a bunch of avatars and a chat window.
If you know of a local game, or if you want to piggy-back on one of my Saturday trips, let me know. I'm sure we can work something out.
