I have been doing a bit of research on the internet and these seem to be pretty good, not as good as Paulson's but they are too much $, at least that I have seen.
Would a 500 pc set (with case) for about $390 + shipping seem like a reasonable price?
Are there any other chips about the same price that might be better?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Personally, I prefer the T.R. King & Co. King's Crown series over all of the other available "fantasy casino" sets: www.trking.com. The Blue Chip Co. chips (who makes those Bonds and all other "seashell" or "flames" mold chips) are definitely my least favorite of all the available clay chips. But yes, that seems to be a pretty reasonable price in the current market.
But, a few things:
1) Hunt around this forum, and you will find that home poker chip distributors will once again be selling Paulsons within the next couple months.
2) As everyone will tell you, GET SAMPLES! They are cheap if not free, and for the investment you are about to make, it is totally worth the effort. As valuable as an informed opinion may be, noone really knows what you will prefer except for you! I almost made a big mistake buying a set before I got samples.
3) Check out www.pokerchipreviews.com.

I ordered 20 of them to mess around with when I was thinking about ordering 500 of them. I believe that they are overpriced for the overall quality of the chips. Out of the 20 chips that I received, none of the inlay stickers are in the middle of the chip, and the edgespots are sloppy on about 15 of the 20. This probably would not bother many people, but it was enough to make me shy away from ordering them.
Besides these flaws, I love the feel and looks of the chips. For about 250 dollars I would grab them up, but I couldn't force myself to pay close to 400 considering the quality.

I got 4 chip samples of these from Blue Chip. Only thing I didn't like is that they are lighter than most chips. The ones I got dont have any flaws, but then again, I only have 4. They also sent some viva las vegas chips, those are ugly chips, much too bright for me.
