I think Jonnyboy is going tonight to play the $200NL tourney. I am planning on swinging down too, maybe if I can make a quick $200-400 @ 8/16 I will play the tourney too.
Anyone else going? Nate? Other MN folks?

Although that sounds like a good time I got tuition and books to pay for for next semester so right now I cant afford that, how many people usually do it? Give us a report for sure if you do it Ive been wanting to do one of those for a while. If I keep placing in MTT's I will for sure do one over winter break. Good luck if you play in it!

I wasnt planning on playing the NL tourney, but had NO SHOT anyway. Jon was there @ 5pm and the best he could do was get on the waiting list (132 players, then add more if players drop, no rebuys). He was 2 short of getting a seat when they stopped taking new players-3rd round I think.
I played all 8/16 and got CRAPPY cards for the entire 6 hours. QQ best pocket pair, JJ once and 88 was next best, some smaller pairs, but only 3 pocket pairs of 88 or better in 6 hours aint good. AK once, AQ a few times, but that was it.
I was down $250-300 before winning a pot. I did have one monster hand which allowed me to leave even on the night. 44, I limp, one raiser, 4-5 callers. Flop 4c3h2h, one player bets, I raise, he reraises, several stick around including the guy calling flush draws all night. Turn Qs, 3 better bets, I call, flushdraw guy calls, 3 handed. River 4h. Flushdraw guy bets, next guy raises, I reraise, flushdrawguy folds, next player 4 bets, I make it 5, he finally calls. I show 44 he has 33. I thought for sure that he had A5 until the 4 bet on the river. Too bad he didnt have Ah5h, would have been jackpot and $28k for me.

Weird isn't it...how sometimes you can be looking at the hand of your dreams and hoping it won't hold up!
