BPC's Neophtyes vs. Pokerchipco's 1003/1006

BPC's Neophtyes vs. Pokerchipco's 1003/1006

I'm hoping some of you could shed some light on these 2 chips.

buypokerchips.com - 12.5g
thepokerchipcompany.com - 10.5g
review: pokerchipreview.com

Both of these get high marks. But BPC has a 25% coupon for the neophyte chips right now, and I can exchange them for upgrade credit later on. Can anyone with these chips give me their thoughts, especially regarding the difference in their sounds and how rounded the edges are. I'd prefer rounded to sharp edges.

I'm leaning towards the neophytes, but they have metal inserts..which might screw with the sound compared to the pokerchipco's.

Get the pokerchipcompany's chips. Dont even consider the "trade in" value. You can get so much more money if you just sold them straight up on Ebay.

The BPC chips are just plastic chips while thepokerchipcompany's chips actually sound like clay.

I would go with the PCC for sure.

I can't comment on BuyPokerChips.com chips because they are way too overpriced for me.

I do have 10 samples of the Poker Chip Company 1006 chips and they are fantastic. They really do sound like real clay chips that would sell for a dollar per chip.

I would go with those, and they look very nice too. I also had great customer service from Poker Chip Company, very responsive and seem to want to make the customer happy.

John from pokerchipreviews.com also suggests PCC chips over the neophytes. This would have been an easier decision if there wasn't a 25% coupon, but I'll swing for the PCCs. I'm getting samples from both companies, so I'll get to compare for myself how the PCC's sound vs BPC's expensive Modern Clay.

Haha, that signature is Malkovich doing his sputnik accent right PanthersHUTCH?

You got it right! Gotta love KGB.

It's always smart to get samples first even though it takes awhile. It is an investment that you could use for many years to come so why not make the right choice.

I can't nee the Buy Poker Chip's chips being better than the others for the price though IMO.

I agree Panthers. Always smart to get the sample before making a huge investmen like this.

Definitely take your time and order the samples and make the right choice.

I've heard nothing but good things about the PCC chips but have no actual personal experience with them.

As for the BPC chips, I have them and do like them alot. They are a bit on the heavy side but I like their feel and stackability.

Given a choice of only BPC or PCC, I would go PCC all the way--I have a sample of their chips and they are nice, but are definitely some sort of injection-molded pseudo-clay Taiwan/China import, and have the "plastic dice-chip" look, with only white edge-spots. Why buy higher-end chips when they still look like the cheap crap? For the same price range of PCC chips, you could get real American-made clay chips with multi-colored edgespots from ASM at www.pokerchips.com. Only 55¢ each for plain edge-spotted, and 65¢ each hotstamped.

This was my thought exactly. If you can accept a solid color chip (Circle & Square mold) the prices go down to $.40 plain & $.50 hotstamped. These chips are great and there is very little wait for the plain ones.
