Greetings...
I checked the area that I posted in and it said Hold'em tales...
Nothing about true stories.
So why couldn't someone post a tale about, Joe Gambler and Bonnie Goodcards, and how they left BooCoo Arkansas went to Vegas in their 1962 Caddy convertable, with their hair blowing cause the top wouldn't go up and in 2 days broke the bank at the Gold and Diamond Casino, then bought their own plane went to the east coast cleaned out Trump Towers and now own the Empire State Building...
I mean, what's the point of all of this uptightness?
Any of you could post anything you wish and it would never enter my mind to badmouth you unless for some meaningless reason you jumped on my case...
Tell your poker stories and have a good time I say.
I moved to Reno, NV when I was 15 yrs old. lived and played there for many years. I could tell many true stories, that are sometimes funny, shocking, suprising, not just about hold'em but about the Reno Gaming scene in general. About the Police, Security guards, Thieves, hustlers, Ingenious scams and so on...
So, lighten up and shoot the breeze!
Regards, Starfire

My name ain't Dude...
Take your rude post and shove it in the shredder.
Posted Fri Dec 10, 2004 9:22 pm GMT by wEbMaStEr
Ok i never said your name was Dude, i don't know why you thought i thought it might be.
As for sticking my post, as you wish, but i believe their is some legitimacy to my comment.
Firstly you make a post on another thread, a dodgy thread about string betting and dropping chips, when you were betting flopped quads, you were called on whether it was true or were you just an idiot for betting your quads on the flop, fair comment in my opinion.
You retaliate and make a big deal out of it, abusing one of the most respected posters on this forum in the process.
Not content with the big to do you made on that thread you start a new thread about how the members of this forum are too uptight and how it doesn't matter if your post was true or not.
I say, the members of this forum are by and large, pretty relaxed individuals.
But you, a new member, decide you know enough to berate them.
Where do you get that right?
As for whether or not it matters if your posts are true or not, I say it actually doesn't matter, but, if you make stuff up just to post on here......... you are gonna get called on it.
So, in conclusion I say, if you're gonna stick around here maybe you should follow your own advice?

Looks like you've read into this what suits you and yours.
My simple post concerning an incident at a casino table, was replied to using the words idiot and liar... I didn't make a big deal of it... Liar and idot are a big deal...
Words that I would carefully contemplate before using.
I berated no one, but rather I was berated for no good reason. Just as you are attempting to belittle with your posts.
You should be advised to make better use of the English language... Be·rates. To rebuke or scold angrily and at length.
re·tal·i·ate. To return like for like, especially evil for evil.
None of these discriptions of yours took place in any of my posts.
Anyone who adresses an innocent person as Idiot and Liar deserves much more than I posted.
I retaliated against no one but rather responed to uncalled for attempts to belittle and harass.
I did not say that it didn't matter if my post were true or not, my point was to any post by any member...
I don't know what dodgy means? If you took the time to read the thread line you might be able to understand why my raise into the opponents.
I raised to grind at their attempts to cheat, and force them to pay or fold.
On the spot. They had been signaling one another for about a half an hour.
I raised to force the player who had nothing to call or fold and lose his false bets.
Who are you to decide what my strategy should be concerning that of which you know little?
You are making up a meaningless point of view. Let those whom are offended speak for themselves.
Who are you to belittle my posts?
I will post as I please within the forum rules.
Most of the responses to my simple observation were certainly uptight, just as you are...
Actually your posts are ignorant, uncalled for and disgusting to an educated person...
Regards, Starfire.

Jeez, can't we all just get along??? :D
Starfire: We're really a pretty nice group here, and I think you're really trying to make a contribution, but no one likes to be lectured and the core group here is pretty savvy, so going on at length about how to make a bet or people's attitudes etc. your first day here seems to be getting on people's nerves. If you want to tell a weird story about Reno, great, no need to instruct everyone how to act when you do though. I'd try and ease up a bit maybe, your call.
Everyone else: The guy's trying to make a contribution at least, I've seen spammers handled with more courtesy. Everyone ease up a little bit maybe til the very new guy finds his feet? Your call.
No offense intended to anyone.

Iron butt...
Seems like you are a responder that doesn't have a big ego.
I value your input... and thank you.
My orignal post had nothing to do with what is being critized, but rather about a dealer miscalling a string bet.
I was simply enjoining members to be aware of their surroundings and playing enviroment.
I have no interest whatever in how this forum is run, who the head dude in charge is, lecturing how people should conduct themselves, or anything like that.
I am interested in keeping people who don't belong there off of my back, especially when tryng to supress my input.
It would be a good thing when those who wish to interact with my comments and points of view, respond, agree or disagree, no problem... I'm a life-long learner.
Conversly those who dislike my input "Go ahead and just ignore me, I can take it!"
I make it on my own at the poker table, I can do that here too!
Regards, Starfire

My first communication with a new members 1'st post would be Greetings and Welcome...
Not Liar, Idiot or Arse...
Posted Sat Dec 11, 2004 4:45 pm GMT by wEbMaStEr
Depends on the manner and attitude of the member really
Posted Sat Dec 11, 2004 6:07 pm GMT by Starfire
It may also depend upon the criticizers ignorance.
Take you for instance...
In some places of which you are ignorant, calling someone a dude is a rude insult, of course, hipsters, flipsters and finger popping daddy's call one another by that, it's acceptable 'cause that's what they are.
In places such as, the ranch lands of Nevada and the wide open spaces of West Texas, "Dude" is equal to totally useless, a "Drug Store Cowboy, A city slicker paying by credit card to spend a couple of weeks vacation on a "Dude Ranch".
A "Dude" cannot carry his own weight, can't do an honest days work, takes up bed space and a place at the eating table without earning it. Can't stay mounted on a hourse, let alone saddle one. A soft and weak man...
About the only time it might be overlooked would be friends, kidding one another, or realizing that the person using "Dude" towards a stranger was because they were from the big city or from a foriegn land and didn't know any better.
Otherwise one might find oneself knocked to the ground and rolled around in some horse manure...
As far as your one liner "Arse", juat an immature attempt to lable someone that you have little or no knowledge of and is more likly a discription of you.
Posted Sat Dec 11, 2004 6:42 pm GMT by Sean_in_NJ
Quite honestly, Starfire, I could not care less about your quad Q's or your string bet or your definition of 'dude.' Your attempt at rhetoric is getting tiresome. Your 'educated' arguments are betrayed by your inability to spell 'horse' correctly, amongst other words. Far be it from me to tell you what should or shouldn't cause you to take offense.
But just let it go and do it in silence. Like Dave B said in another post, quoted from another source I believe: Arguing over the Internet is like the Special Olympics. You may win, but you're still retarded.
Posted Sat Dec 11, 2004 7:07 pm GMT by Starfire
How'ed you get involved Mr. Typo-free dude...
How is it that you speak for all...
What does your caring have to do with me living my life...
You are not to slience anyone dude...
I have no problems with my effective use of language, apparent you are reading it.
If you are not interested, then don't go there. I'm not taking up your thread space.
As you imply, I choose to be offended as I please.
Because you don't care, don't count...
I've never used rude offensive aggressive language to anyone in this forum. Yet you contend that I should not be allowed to defend against those which do.
Go start your thread dimwit...

I merely contend that defending yourself is pointless, and if you'd simply move on to a new topic you might be surprised at how quickly people may warm to you. Your stubborness in continuing this thread is only alienating you further.

Greetings, Sean and thank for your input...
I have called over some folks that have family members which are in a daily struggle with physical and mental disabilities.
When they read that you have used the unfortunate situations of people in our society to belittle and putdown someone by saying that they will still be a retard, it was shocking and hurtful to them.
Am I one of the few that thinks thru their post... I really don't believe that I am the one which is going on and on, but rather it's caused by those which have done the offense.
You are totally correct the self-defense is a wasted usage of this forum, This reason being, that that the offenders will never own up, even in the face of binding arbitration.
Best Regards, Starfire...

Sean_in_NJ is one of my "cronies" (ironic comment on another thread of which you will probably have no knowledge but which i am sure you will lap up as further proof of the cronyism which pervades on this forum which you seem to despise so much but yet visit so frequently)
Also, you use the term "dude twice in rapid succession in this post to someone you know little of, yet you become all arse-like when i use it towards you? slightly hypocritical dontcha think?
| Starfire wrote: | | Go start your thread dimwit... |
Unwarranted abuse against someone who offered you sound advice.
| Starfire wrote: | Greetings, Sean and thank for your input...

Either this is a(nother) lie or you are indeed a cruel person.
Who is more cruel? the person who makes such a post or he who invites friends and family member to view such a post, knowing that by doing so they will be deeply hurt and offended that such thinking still exists in the world today.
| Starfire wrote: | | Am I one of the few that thinks thru their post |
You may indeed think thru your own posts, but it would seem you seldom read properly thru the responses to your posts.
If you had done you would surely have noted that Sean_in_NJ was in actual fact quoting another post which points out the futility on arguing over the internet, and was not, himself, drawing the comparison.
That will do for now, i think these show the inconsitances in your thoughts and opinions, no doubt you will further refute them, providing me with yet more fuel with which to stoke the fire of your Arselyness
Do you really want to keep this going? I live for this kind of thing and look forward to tearing you down at some future opportunity.
I will be sadly disappointed if you do decide to stop being a troll and follow the sound advice given you and do indeed move on to other topics.

You folks that are following these 2 threads, should perhaps look upon them as a temporary comic strip.
Threads such as these always wither, fade away and die out on their own.
Personally, all of this hogwash has about as much value and meaning as an orange peel and will hold the same type of memories...
Not to worry, I'm sure that I'll not post additional threads in this forum again, just reading will satisfy my needs...
Best Regards, Starfire...
