...Biggest laydown?

Posted Thu Dec 04, 2003 3:06 pm GMT by Poker_Vendetta
What's the biggest laydown you've ever made?

This is inspired by the f*cking dumbest hand I've ever seen. I flop a full-house with 53o, I feel kinda bad b/c of my luck and play it soft. On the river there is a four-card straight flush draw out there too however. I bet get reraised and raised again...I honestly felt for about 2-3 seconds I should fold, I noticed the 4s that would make a straight flush but I thought, "What are the odds" and went all-in. This is pokerstars BTW...lucky table, must have been. A couple of quads, full houses, a straight flush. Odd, I should have laid it down though. Would have been the biggest laydown I've ever seen.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention he DID have the 4s.

I dont recall exactly, but I am sure it was a full house when 2 pair hit the board.

Yeah, I've been in that situation but screwed it up and called. I believe I have laid down trips before when I knew my kicker was inferior...that is a kinda easy laydown though, b/c you could be in some big doodoo.

I've laid down trips, thats the biggest I can think of.

In Omaha I recall laying down a Flush.

Oh yeah, that is a fairly easy one to make too considering the circumstances. You know, like 10 people reraise the heck out of you, and thus you must fold your 10dXx.

iv folded a Flush down when i saw Two Pair on the board and one was pair of Kings.
someone did have the Fullboat

folded Straghts down when the 3rd of a suilt hits and i start getting bet into.

the other day at pokerstars 3am turny
i pulled a ACE High Straght only to lose all in to a Flush when the J i needed hit but it was the 3rd Club also.

gave the guy a Jack high flush

not really a good laydown but relating to the last post...

Low stakes tourney...20-ish guys, winner wins 50-75. I was about average chip stack at the final table, 6 ppl left. pocket kings dealt. I'm prepared to raise big but..guy 2 to the right of me makes a huge bet, guy right next to me raises all in. It would have nearly brought me all in, and figuring one of them had big slick or pocket rockets, i didnt want to get involved. I fold...sure enough, flop brings 2 kings, an ace. The guy won with a full house, aces full of kings.

Flop was QQQ, I had pocket 3s, guy next to me was just betting and betting. Had to lay it down, he had pocket Ks.

Also folded trips As before. I knew the guy had a straight to the 5. The lowest straight beating the highest trips. Going just as low as he can to still beat me.

How is laying down a four of a kind not a big lay down?

Posted Fri Feb 20, 2004 9:26 am GMT by JimTheBullet
It is not a big laydown because he didn't have the four of a kind when he laid them down - that happened later. If you counted all the times you lay down a hand that would have become big had you stayed (usually wrongly) in the pot then I have laid down at least 2 straight flushes in the past. I haven't though, I have laid down small suited connectors.

I think he made a great laydown - he correctly read that AA was in the hand and he would have been a massive (82% is it?) dog if he called. It isn't a BIG laydown though because he didn't have the big hand yet.

My biggest laydown was a boat K's full of J's. Good thing too. My opponent had quad J's. I've never been so angry and happy at the same time in my life. What are the odds?

Posted Sat Feb 21, 2004 2:28 pm GMT by Bates0202
I see, it would be a lay down if i already had the four of a kind and somehow knew that my opponent had a strait flush and decided to fold. AHAAH! Twisted Evil Now I'm hip to your slang Exclamation
