AA Bad Beat

Posted Tue Dec 14, 2004 1:05 pm GMT by e42294
This was a bad beat, but I was the one handing out the beat rather than receiving the bad beat.

NL 3-table SNG. I am down to about 400 chips, only 2 tables left and the leader has over 3,000. The game was starting to look like it might take a little more time then I had left since I had somewhere to go so I get 55 and go all in before the flop. I get a call from another player with about 1,500 chips. I'm all in so cards show. He has AA.

Flop - nothing,
turn - nothing,
river - 5

I win the pot with a set of 5's and apologize. We both now have about 1,000 chips.

Why apologize? You had a very short stack and got dealt a pocket pair. You did nothing wrong, he just got unlucky.

The aim in poker is to take all of the other guys chips!
There is never a reason to apologise (unless you deliberately cheat someone, in which case sorry won't help)
I hear far too many people saying sorry when they catch a miracle card............. altho i have yet to believe any of them mean it Razz

i agree with nut flush. you played your hand very nicely and respectfully given your situation with the low stack. just bad luck on your opponents part, that's all. Wink
