Both SB & BB are out of game, what do you do with the bl

Strange one really, but not one that bothers myself or anyone we play with as we play our own rule (i assume), but was curious as to the correct rule. let me explain.

6 people at table
SB all in
BB all in
And one other also all in amounts bet irrelevant

Both SB and BB loose, so are now at of the game.

At the next hand button moves to left of BB (now out) SB and BB folllow from this position.

The above is how myself and friends play, but surely as the new dealer is missing out on paying both SB and BB this is slightly unfair.

What is the correct way to play this?

What does happen to SB and BB when one or both are removed from game in the previous hand?

Cheers

Not sure if this is correct or not, but I would leave the button where it is and make the guy to the left put in a BB. No small blind this hand.

There are two ways to play it. The way Nut Flush described is the "dead button" rule: The big blind is posted by the player due for it, and the small blind and button are positioned accordingly, even if this means the small blind or the button is placed in front of an empty seat, giving the same player the privilege of last action on consecutive hands.

The other way is the "moving button" rule: The button always moves forward to the next player, and the blinds adjust accordingly. In your example of both the SB and BB busting the same hand, the guy to the left of the busted BB becomes the dealer and posts a big blind, and the two guys to his left post small and big blind, respectively, as normal.

You can do it either way...I think the dead button rule is used more for limit games, and the moving button rule is used for no-limit, but I could be mistaken.

At the casino I play at they would leave the button where it is and have 2 big blinds. Next hand, button moves w/ the button posting a SB, player to left of button posting SB, 2 spots left of the button posting BB. 3rd hand things are normal again w/ one BB one SB.

This way no one ever misses a blind.

It comes down to house rules, lay out what will happen before hand.

Good diagrams ORGrinder. My house rules on the moving button are that missed blinds are posted in full on the next hand, so a player might post a small and big blind at the same time.

In your small blind busts out example, on hand 2, player 3 would post SB, player 4 would post both SB and BB, and player 5 would post BB.

In your big blind busts out example, on hand 2, player 4 would post both SB and BB, player 5 would post BB.

Finally, your both blinds bust out example, hand 2, player 4 posts both blinds, player 5 posts both blinds, and player 6 posts BB.

I can't remember where I read that, and I'm not sure which method is preferrable. What's the official (WSOP, WPT) rule?
