I still think the 'PAULSONS CHIPS" across the top and bottom looks terrible. The Blue Chip version is much more aesthetically pleasing.

Honestly, I think I hate the seashell/flame mold enough that these actually look better to me...LOL. But I agree, it's somewhat tacky.

I have a question about this. Does this mean there will now be at least two different sets of Paulson being released, these Bond chips and the Apache chips? Also, I read somewhere that 5Stardeal.com was going to be getting a version as well. I am going to go broke if there are going to be so many new Paulsons realeased to us again, lol.

Posted Mon Dec 20, 2004 11:59 am GMT by slowplayray
No, those Apache chips aren't happening - this is the same site that had those. I'm guessing they're only making the Bonds. We shall soon see though.

ditto, that mold is just plain nasty! I doubt that I would consider ANYTHING with that mold, no matter how nice it is.

I also am not a huge fan of the mold. I'm just glad I haven't been looking forward to these for the few months that it has been known they were coming out because I would have been disappointed.

I wonder why all the chips have two edge spots? The original Bond chips had three edge spots on the $100,$500 and the $.50(I think). They definitely have that corny "home poker chip" look to them with that Paulson Chips along the top and bottom edges but, I bet they sound and feel a thousand times better than the Blue Chips version. I was so disappointed when I received my samples of the Blue Chip version of the Bond Chips. They were actually smaller than the standard 39mm and they definitley were not 10 grams in weight. So,unless I fall in love with the Crystal Oyster chips from Chipco(waiting for samples to arrive). It looks like I might be going with the Paulsons. Maybe if I wait long enough Paulson will put something out that looks better.

Posted Mon Dec 20, 2004 2:57 pm GMT by leetpants
this is definatly going to be my set.

The $25, and the 100 chip were the exact colors that i was lookng for in a paulson chip.

Cant wait until these come out!

great news!

i agree the colors r much better.

No one is going to be notice the "Paulsons Chips" mold too much. They may be more noticeable on lighter color chips, but that's only secondary to the primary graphics of the chip. It's really pushed into the background and not very noticeable at all once you have the chips in your hands.

If they just had Paulson on them, like the way some of the casinos have their names molded on the chip, it would be one thing. But the Paulson Chips on the mold makes it incredibly distracting and redundant. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it is a chip.

Wait a minute.....Chip?...I thought those things were coasters......

I got 4 letters for the mold......U...G...L...Y

I for one can't wait to see these chips. Remember that they are supposed to be casino weighted...which is going to make a huge difference. Price looks to be right as well, if it stays where it's at now.

Very cool stuff.

Are you guys SURE that "Paulson Chips" is part of the MOLD or is it just a watermark on the pictures?

I'm curious if the Inlay of these new Paulson Chips are going to be flush with the rest of the chip. i don't like how Blue Chip's Bond chips are 'indented' then the inlay is somewhat beneth the rim.

If you look at ASM chips from Pokerchips.com, the inlay is flush and has some sort of clear hard plastic coating that makes it flush with the rest of the chip.

Does anybody know if the inlay will be flush with the outter rim of these chips?

I already have a set of Blue Chip Isthmus chips that include about 60 Paulsons. Even though the colors are a bit different, I still plan to buy a set of these to add onto my set. I am sure that they will be the same as the original chips (except for the edge spots). I just wish that Paulson would have made this move a few months earlier...before I dropped a ton of money on the Blue Chip version.

You guys are nuts. I mean the mold could be better maybe but that is no deal breaker. They want that mold to be easy to spot so casinos don't have to think twice about it.

Would you rather have say a seashell mold or some crap with no top hat and canes?

Posted Wed Dec 22, 2004 9:58 am GMT by ncskier
I DO like it more than the stupid shallow seashell.

This still does nothing for people who want custom chips. I don't see myself getting denominations on my chips either. I play such a wide range of games, not to mention tourneys.

Question for those who own the Blue Chip version of the "Bond" chips. Did you get samples before you purchased them? I am just curious as to why someone would waste there money on such an overpriced product. When I received my samples, I laughed. They were to small and to light and the center inlays were so lopsided, the overall quality of the chip was just plain awful. Hopefully with the new Paulson chip they will not sacrifice on the quality of the product for us home players. I think that I am going to wait this initial wave of excitement to blow over with this news of Paulson making chips again for the home player. Wait and see what people have to say about the product who go out and buy them.

I dont have the isthmus chips but when I got a sample I was not as impressed as I hoped. THEN, I got a sample of the old Paulson Isthmus chips and I realized how crappy the BC ones really were....

I love my Blue Chips!

I liked the BC version when I first received them. The more I looked at them, the less I liked them.
