Drunk SOB

Posted Tue Dec 21, 2004 5:22 pm GMT by jbuffs
Playing in monthly no-limit tournament ($40 buy-in) - with friends from work.

Blinds 500/1000 (I had 5000 in chips)

I'm in BB and get pocket 7s

Drunk SOB to my right calls BB. He has about 8000 in chips. Everyone folds back to me - i go all ($4000 raise) in before the flop. I'm a pretty tight player and the Drunk is extremely loose - been on draws all night - and winning.

Drunk has 2h5h

Flop comes 4d, 7s, 6c

turn in nothing

river is a 3 and he gets a straight.

I can't believe he called a $4000 raise with a 2h5h.

Should I have played this differently?

I dunno, I don't think I'd have gone all-in pre-flop with 77 but I probably would have at some point with trips with the same result LOL. No dodging that bullet.
